i saw a patient once in the ER with bleeding - it was impossible to get a speculum in there to evaluate the source.  I also remember a c-section in another patient - we actually had to import a retractor that was big and sturdy enough for me to hold the fat back.  I couldn’t for the life of me figure out how those little sperm managed to make their way up in there.  No wonder the human race is so effective at reproducing.
