Stupid question of the day

You’re right that this rule is ambigious in this rule book. But to me the intention of the game makers is very clear. That shows not from this rule book, but from all rule books after this version. For example in the rule book from 1943 2nd, They state specifically that all strategic bombing raids take place first. This resolves any argument about who pays the IPC’s to the bank, the attacker or the defender! Since they solved this in the next rule book, i think it is quite obvious what they intended and tried to correct.

So how does submerging work here?

Subs may submerge at the end of any round of combat if there are no opposing destroyers in the battle at that point (as long as the battle is not over).  They have no effect on other units while submerged, and are ignored.  They resurface at the end of the noncombat movement phase, having no effect on enemy units in the sea zone at that point.

You can only place ANY units purchased at an IC controlled by the nations who’s turn it is.

I’ve played a few board games in the barracks and behind all the smack talking, the brains are going furiously.

I recall on game where a guy brought his “girl friend” (she was a dancer at a local club) and she made it a point to do everything but actually service the folks playing the game all as part of his master plan to win just once!

No, he did not win and yes his “girl friend” spent the night in the barracks room.  Four guys, four beds, one girl, 'nuff said.

So I take it you guys played musical beds all night with the winner getting the bed and a good night’s sleep?  :wink:

We drew straws and the loser slept on the couch. Yep, that’s what we did.  :roll:

Thankfully, given her profession as a dancer, we had no body shyness problems in the morning as we dealt with the issue of five people and one bathroom.

in a game with real dice, there is a REALLY, REALLY big chance you’ll lose it, but you are never CERTAIN :-P  :evil:

Indeed, and also very useful to attack the German fleet- otherwise you almost have no opportunity to land your planes. Brings a new perspective to my game.
