• Sadly no Imperious Leader, I have no war stories worth mentioning. :-(

  • I could get some from the rest of my platoon if you want. Most of them have seen some action.

  • Then what did you do?

    garrison duty?

Id like some story of a patrol that went into combat or took out a few targets.something

  • 2007 AAR League

I have a friend who stayed in Baghdad during the Allied bombing as a human rights observer. She belonged to the same organization that later had three members kidnapped. If any of you right-wingers want to get really riled up, go check out their website at http://cpt.org - which incidentally was the first website I ever designed.

  • We beat our DIs in war games once.

  • All of my “War Stories” are about idiot trainees “playing crazy” to get out.

Like the guy who wrapped the buffer cord around his neck while standing on the thrid floor of one of the Starships in Ft. Benning.
But the guy was not too bright, tied the plug end around his neck.  And the cord was long enough to reach from one end of a platoon bay to the other.  So when he pushed the buffer off the railing, it fell and smashed all over the concrete below.  Smashed buffer on the ground, cord going up to the 3rd floor, and him stanidng there wondering “WTF?”.  About that time the Drill Sergeant got to the top of the steps and tackled him.

10 minutes later the MP’s took the trainee away.  The next day his locker was emptied.  Rumor has it he was charged with destruction of government property (the buffer), attempted destruction of government property (himself), served 2 weeks incarcerated on Main Post, and was then discharged dishonorably.

Then there was the guy who took the Ibuprofen overdose…
The guy who went AWOL, stole his old mans vehicle (an Army officer of course, stationed on post) and was caught AT HOME in Texas.

And then their is the Battle Buddy Battle.  Myself and my “battle buddy”, a guy with the last name Eyer.  I was in dual leg imobolizers, he was recovering from a punctured lung.  In line at the DFAC, and another COMPANY decided to start shite with us.  I STILL have the scar on my forehead today from that encounter.  Bled like hell.  But I kept Eyer out of the fray, held off the other guys, and earned the nick “Duke” after that one… and a hell of a lot of respect from the DS’s for this “former Academy puke”.
