I don’t quite understand this statement. The cards could not be more clear:
Card 04 - Antiaircraft Fire Fighters
Card 05 - Bombers Strike
Card 06 - Antiaircraft Fire Bombers

D-Day has got to be the most simple rules to play of all the Axis and Allies versions. All you have to do is follow the cards in sequence; you barely have to read the rules.

I got DDay and Bulge about the same time and dove into those articles, and honestly didn’t look again at them the other day when I posted.  Your stuff on Bulge was a huge help to me and I thought you had done the ones for DDay too.  Guerrilla Guy & Levgre did the DDay ones and those are a big help for it.  So, credit is due to all who have made them, I’ll due a better job of making sure which has done which.  And yes, Frimmel, your posts have been great and have helped our group with both.

The Allies have only one the very first game we played they are racking up a big donut but it has been a year since we sat down for a D-day. Revised and BOTB have got most of the love and we get new Star Trek CCG cards this week so…

Is fighter strafing a targeted attack? Say three fighters are in the same territory as three moving enemy units: an infantry, an artillery, and a tank. Are three dice rolled for the infantry, then three for the artillery, and three more for the tank? Or are nine dice rolled and for any 1s that are rolled, the defender chooses casualties?
The dice rolls are targeted, so there’s no choosing of casualties. It’s best to roll all the fighters’ dice against one moving unit, then do the same for the next moving unit. In the example, roll three dice for the infantry, three for the artillery, and three for the tank.

In your case one per fighter per unit that moves. It is best also to roll against each unit that is brought into a reinforcement zone as it comes off the charts as well.

this is what i found. Allies park 4 planes into caen and 4 planes into St lo literally the entire game. half of all german artillery  sent in is anihilated by the straffing the other half his cleared by the ground forces before the germans even get the chance to fire at them. the only advantage is the allies run out of reinforcements faster but its evened out by the carnage the germans suffer from the airplanes

I haven’t played D-day as much as I would like (not enough players in my area), but your fighter strats seem pretty solid.  I especially like your ideas on preventing the Germans from advancing on Allied units after they’re already on the board (Techniques 2-4).  I usually just kill the incoming reinforcements, especially if I can managed to convince the German player to place reinforcements further from places I’m focusing on, like Caen or St. Lo.  Next time I manage to play I’ll have to expand my thinking on the use of air cover.

Your 88’s are not going to be as deadly as planes. The planes get to shoot at each piece that comes into a reinforcement zone or any zone they are patrolling. They also get to shoot at each piece that tries to move out of any zone they are patrolling. So your planes get a swing at the 88’s before they are even on the board. And each plane gets a swing at each piece. You only get one swing per 88 no matter how many planes are in its zone.

The FTRs and BMBs do not get to retreat back to the Airfields before the Axix gets a chance to roll Antiair. I don’t have the cards in front of me either but I’m pretty sure the Axis gets AA for Bombers and fighters.

The only games that I have played that have even been close to Allied victory the FTRs seemed to never miss. You have to get 88’s into your reinforcement zones to have a chance at the FTRs but not going after those zones with the FTRs is a huge mistake even with 88’s in them. With some players the 88’s will keep them from putting FTRs in those zones but they get over that pretty quick.
