Its certainly one way to try to slow Japan down. The extra territories for you (and less for Japan) does a couple things, 1) it reduces Japans IPCs and increases yours which is a swing of a few infantry and 2) it forces Japan to take more territories before it can threaten Moscow. Its a gamble if this is a better way to play than simply stacking Russian infantry in Yakut, then backing up to Novo but I think the allies are better off attacking than defending.
What also sometimes happens is 1) Russia takes Manchuria, 2) UK takes Kwang via the transport from india. Then on US1, the US takes FIC if possible after J1. This results in Japan having nothing on the mainland after R1. To counter this in a bid game (though I’m not really an expert on playing with bids), it is typical to add an inf or two to manchuria so that the odds of Russia taking this is slim.
Hello all,
at first sorry for my english, because I am from Czech republic. I have problem with my Axis and Allies game. I have played about 65 rounds now and in this time game typing error message something as “LOG file is full” and is impossible to continue with playing game. If I choose Load Game and click on saved game, the game starts as New game (on start). Folder with save games (Autosave and my 1 save) has about 50 MB. Thanky you for help !! thank you very much.
The classic rule is IC’s that you do not start with are limited.
So if Ger takes Kar, they can only place 3 on subsequent turns when they maintain control of it at the start of the turn.
IC placement rules are similar to ftr/bmr landing rules. It can only happen on territories you controlled at the start of the turn, prior to any purchases.
I think that if Germany falls, Japan still has a shot at winning. In one game I played, Japan had already taken Russia and was pushing into Ukraine and Kerelia. However, Germany surrendered to the Allies on the very next turn so it was USA/UK vs. Japan. If I remember the calculations correctly Japan was making around 69 IPCs a turn with UK and USA at 77. For about 50+ turns, trench warefare waged across Finland, Eastern Europe, and East Africa with Naval and Aerial battles raging across the English Channel. My God it was great!
