@Panther Yeah, let’s try it in a few places and see how it goes. 3 max is good.
Icons
-
On the main website, I want to start putting any new content that is added to the front page (similar to slashdot). I’m also going to try to do updates once a week on Friday. So to distinguish one type of content from another, I want to use icons but I need some suggestions.
Here is what I have so far. Any ideas for any of these are welcome.
News: a newspaper
Articles: a typewriter
Miniatures: ??
Strategies: ??
Rules or House Rules: ?? -
Well, house rules/strategies could be an image of an AA Infantryman or Tank. Same for miniatures, actually.

Actually I think the perfect icon for ‘miniatures’ would be an AA infantryman(maybe russian even). The important thing would be to get the plastic plate under his feet on the image, clearly indicating a “miniature”.

Strategies: Image of AA(or similar) battleboard
House rules: Image of a house layout, like a battleplan. Think of “home alone” for reference. Could also be a simple §.Might be too detailed to be a good icon, just tossing out ideas…

I agree, a simple house outline for House Rules.
For Mini’s, the INF sounds right
For strats, a game board sounds good, or just a very simplistic global map that shows rough contintental outlines.

Miniatures: a rare german tank
Strategies: old battle map from ww2 showing german attack and lots of arrows
Rules or House Rules: a picture of the aa rule booklet with the word in red "house rules’ written on the bias. -
Excellent ideas all!
