@RisingSun I had similar experience, I was big into the naval miniatures but couldn’t afford both. I bought a lot on ebay a year or so ago and have played a few games. It is not difficult to learn especially if you are familiar with the navy side, it’s pretty similar but includes facing. I think it’s a great game and wish I had collected it some when it was active.

Want durable printed Acis & Allies miniatures maps at a reasonable cost?

I printed out maps using vinyl banner material from Vistaprint. Using a 50% off coupon proved to be a very economical way to create durable maps. I had to combine maps add borders to some of the maps to make them fit the standard banner dimension. It was simple to trim and cut using a straight edge and razor.

At the most I get 2-3, so my tactics may differ. If you have more, it best to drop them in a spread to prevent enemy movement, but still keep them close to eachother.

Most often I either drop em early to get the most use out of them.
They work well either by entering behind enemy lines and taking commanders/artillery out, or landing on objective hexes or bridge to prevent early capture.
Sometimes I keep them back to face a threat the enemy has (Armored cars or apposing Paras/Heros. But for the most part they pop out pretty early! :D

A successful defensive-fire attack disrupts the target. Since disrupted units can’t move, this
normally ends that unit’s movement. Grizzled Veteran ignore face up, so it can move.
If you are playing with Lethal Defensive Fire (Expanded Rules is another history.

A special ability does trump normal rules… but usually states as much on the stat card.  For instance, “Close Assault”  It ignores cover.

Angriff doesn’t state “this movement ignores defensive fire.”
