Question on potential bombardment if an enemy transport is around

Why not ask if you need a transport to cross the Tasman sea. Heck, people can swim the English Channel so therefore no transport should be required, right?

Fair dinkum. This has got to be one of the weirdest A&A questions I’ve heard.

If it helps justify it, imagine that they’re flying CAP, and were already in the air when the subs struck.  The only time aircraft aren’t considered “in the air” is when attacking with a carrier that has a friendly plane.  In all other circumstances, the airplanes are independent of the carrier (and already in the air).  Not just when attacked, but even before they were attacked.  Hence, Combat Air Patrol.

If you dont like dice, you can always go Low Luck or No Luck.  However, I prefer ADS mainly because it means I get away scot free for years and years against AA Guns (i have the ultimate best record of surviving AA Guns and the absolute worst.  My worst record is 23 of 23 strategic bombers lost in a row (not all in one battle, I’da suicided if it was all in one battle!) and my current luck streak is still going with something like 50 misses in a row with AA Guns.)

Yeah.  The fighters can scramble to defend, but without a destroyer present they can’t target the sub.

Well either way. uk can only make 9-10 inf r1.  germany round 2 buys more transports and dumps what he has on to a spot near uk. G3 is boom boom if you got the forces or wait a round just shuffle a bunch of guys over and G4 it is done.

There is nothing uk can do. period.

I think he posted his quote on the wrong thread.  It looks like his quote is supposed to be on some thread about Sealion.  Maybe he was thinking of making his post, saw this topic and decided to check it out, then said “Oh, I’ve got to leave my post” but forgot to go back to the original Sealion thread and left it here instead.  Probably a blonde moment, ha ha ha.

What’s even more tragic (or fortunate depending on how you look at it) is that I have 10 differe A&A’s so a lack of control markers for the big 5 is never an issue. A lack of ANZAC markers on the other hand…
