Any nation can remain neutral if it is not attacked or does not attack first. And a declaration of war by another power is not a declaration of war by the power that is attacked. Even though it would attack the agressor, it is not considered to be aggression. If played badly, USSR could be in great troubles declaring war on all Axis powers by itself. But who knows, you might have a lucky day 🍀

The militia don’t move

@MAX1313 They do not have to give it back. In fact, they address this specifically in the V2 Rulebook:

"9.18 Voluntary Return: If a land zone you capture does not belong to your Alliance you may
return it to its original owner (i.e. nation whose roundel is printed on the map). This is usually the
case when the Soviet or Allied players recapture land zones that belong to the other. To return a
captured zone simply announce your intention to do so and move all of your units from the zone.
Remove your roundel and place the receiving nation’s roundel on the zone. "

So, you CAN choose to return it to them if you want, but are not obligated to. I don’t know off the top of my head a particular reason you’d want to do this with, but if something is going to affect victory points one way or another in your favor, you’d almost certainly consider it!

Sounds like a very ambitious attack! Just remember, Allied players would have to take Denmark from the Axis first in order to pass through the Danish Straight, and then conduct an amphibious assault on a city to take Leningrad. Seems like a lot of effort and resources, but that’s just me!

@GeneralHandGrenade Thanks GHG! And just to reiterate again, I was referencing the V2 rules, as I stated in my post. I’m not surprised the V3 might have issues too, as they are not finalized.

But my post mentioned that V2 reference sheets had a lot of issues, and in the past HBG has said on their Global War page that the rule book itself should be relied upon in the event that there were discrepancies with the reference sheets.

I’m not speaking to V3 in any way here, as that would not be helpful given they aren’t even finalized sheets! But thanks for the info, I’ll be sure to check out your video!

Oh I agree it’s a gamble and like any big gamble if it doesnt go your way it’s a bit of a disaster.
But given that I’ve seen Germany take a pretty bulked out France with barely any losses, it’s something to be considered. And when comparing the two outcomes, leaves you in more or less the same place.
However if the rolls do go your way, you can have a pretty effective fighting force capable of independent action in Africa or the Middle East.
Something to consider at any rate. Especially if you fancy trying something different.
