Just checked.
Yes, kamikazes are used with low luck with that option on.
My friend and I are new to TripleA, from what I understand there are compatability issues between MacOS and PCs but we have been able to get through 4 turns of G40 emailing the save file back and forth. Unfortunately, now he got an error about it not working on MacOS, and now when he tries to load that save file or our replacement file the play button option doesn’t even work. Any advice?
Welcome to the forum.
So the issue is not about emailing as the headline says, but rather about savegame-files that do not load or work correctly. Have I understood this correctly?
As TripleA is based on Java there usually should not be any problem related to the OS.
However I remember rare issues that are Mac related.
@ubernaut I remember you use a Mac, right? Any insights?
@larsonw26
What is the exact TripleA version that both of you use?
Please list the exact steps that you or your friend execute until the error occurs.
And - also important - state the exact error message that is issued. Copy-paste it or upload a screenshot.
You can upload the savegames here so we can try to load them and see what happens.
@Panther the only new issue i’m aware of is that if you change the folder you are trying to load from (ie move a file in or out of that folder while the open file screen is up) it breaks loading so that you need to quit to fix that but seems like this would be something different as when that happens you cant even select the file and there is no actual error displayed.
@larsonw26 can you tell us what the error says or send a screen shot?
@Panther @ubernaut
Sorry for the late reply, college is busy.
To answer your questions, yes the issue is about the savefile not loading when my friend on his MAC tries to open it.
We are both using TripleA version 11.0.6.
I’m including a screenshot of the error message my friend received as well as the save file.

Game file: G5.tsvg
Thank you guys for your help, I really appreciate it. Let me know if you need anything else!

@Panther
Also the steps that caused the error is that he gets the error message when he tries to load the game file he downloaded from our email chain as the saved game file. After that message, it won’t allow him to press the play button.
@larsonw26 i believe thats a file access permission error apple recently locked all that down so that each app needs to be granted explicit permission to access disk files. don’t ask me why.
at any rate make sure triplea has access to the save folder in settings > privacy and security > files and folders. it should look something like this:

@ubernaut
I appreciate the quick response. My friend tried what you suggested but when he brought up the files and folders section triplea wasn’t there. And when he searches his computer for tripleA stuff, only the files he downloaded show up, nothing about an app where you can manage files.
@larsonw26 hmm normally the app will prompt to get access automatically and then show up there. instead of the files and folder tell your friend to go to full disk access on the same level. in that list you can manually add apps.
@ubernaut Thank you for your help.
@larsonw26 The file you provided loads perfectly fine here. So we can condense the issue to be solely MacOS-related. I have edited the headline of this topic to reflect the actual issue.
