@The-Captain
I used 3mm thumb nuts drilled out to fit 3mm acrylic rods. I used a number of 3d printed jigs for cutting the rods, assembly of the stands and gluing the magnets. If I remember later I’ll attached some pictures of the jigs/stands
Magnetic Bombers

Hello
Have a quick question. I am starting to do flight stands and magnetics. The 1/16" X 1/32" seems to be good for all the fighters. But on the bombers doesn’t seem to be strong enough. Just wondering what magnet size do most people use? I am drilling them in to the bomber and thinking trying a 2mmX1mm seems 3mmX1mm are to big.

@Wolz9122 I used 3x1mm for all of my planes and a 3x2 on all of the flight stands. I didn’t find them too big.

We use magnetic tape on both Aircraft Carriers, Air units and Fligth stands.
See more pictures at the House Rules section - look for Global 1940 & 1943 Expansions Game Reports.

Awesome thank you for the advice. On all your stuff is it all waterslide decals or paint?

Hi Wolz,
It is a combination of hand painting, decals and paper-printed symbols (like the Waffen-SS symbols).
All units are hand painted - then decals are added - and finally ecerything is sprayed with matt varnish.

On my flight stand I went the acrylic clear route on them. Came across this site. https://shop.zlazr.com/collections/acrylic-circles The have a lot of different sizes. Order a bunch of them and reasonably cheap.
Started painting already some original version, and still need a matt finish on them. Going to test some stuff out before painting pieces that i ordered from Historical board gaming. -

Also drilled magnets into the carrier. Was able to fill 3 of them in there. Used some Vallejo plastic putty to fill the bottom and painted. Happy how that turned out.
