@panther right on . I’m glad it’s working ok for others. The switch from firefox to Brave and the ubuntu update only thing I can think of that changed on my end.

I was playing PTV and trying to run a battle calculation with AA units involved and noticed that the odds did not seem to incorporate the potential hits associated with the AA units. So I tried an extreme example 30 ftrs vs 10 AA. The ftrs will win but should take some losses. Instead the battle was 100% winner with zero ftr losses. I ran multiple times always the same result.
I thought it might be a weirdness with PTV and battle calculator, but ran the same sim in BM4 and got same result. Interestingly, I ran in OOB and got 100% win for ftrs with zero losses…but the defender did not lose any AA! Final result 10/10 defenders and 30/30 ftrs!!!
I’m using version 2.6.14526 for the game engine. Linux OS.
Is this a known bug?

@surfer this doesn’t sound right could be a map specific issue just tried this with TWW odds look pretty correct:

This one seems to be working. The expected outcome is 5 ftr loss to 10 AA. Even IPC exchange of 50 IPCs.

@ubernaut I don’t understand that first calc. How can a single AA with a 16% chance of hitting win the battle 60% of the time! TWW must treat AA differently than traditional G40 rules.
I’m pretty sure this is a game specific problem. Especially since G40 OOB gave different results than PTV or BM4

@surfer in TWW the AA gun has it’s first strike hit as well as a regular combat roll. these ones r upgraded so they have a ⅙ aa hit and then a 3/12 hit for combat in the second battle it’s just 3/12 vs 3/12

so in ur setup u have aa and fighters but that’s not actually a battle that can happen bc air alone cannot capture a territory so the battle never begins

They are Global1940 or Global1940-based.
Does TWW follow the same AA-unit-rules as Global1940?

You are totally right, of course. I was rather reflecting different results due to different AA-rules.
I tested this scenario (Global 1940.2) .
A 100% result with a loss of 5-6 planes appears to reflect the expected outcome.
Tested with 2.5.22294 and 2.7 pre.
The same scenario in PTV:
Same result.
@surfer I can’t reproduce your issue. Have you by chance tried with 2.5.22294 or a 2.7 pre-release, too?

Worked correctly with BM4 and PTV ~ 25 ftrs remain
OOB still has 30 ftrs and 10 AA remaining at end of fight.
I don’t have a copy of 2.7
But I did try v.2.6.14394. It worked fine for all 3 versions.
Not sure what is wrong v.2.6.14526…but some kind of regression occurred. And apparently was fixed in 2.7. I’ll try updating my game engine to latest 2.6…I have several games running with others so not want to upgrade to 2.7.
