@cwo-marc
And when you consider how all the other units, tanks, fighters, bombers, and infantry are all their own scales, having consistency in class seems to make the most sense. At least to me. Even if units are the same size in real life, as you said, its easier for non-historians/enthusiasts to pick up the game if unit type x is scale size x.
Maybe if this was just a naval game or a land war game, then all units could be the same scale. As 3D printing becomes more common, I was interested in hearing how others approached this.
Thanks

Has anyone ever considered designing a 3d printable battle box replacement? I’m thinking that may be a good solution that would be much more durable than the cardboard version. I’ve never designed anything for printing so not sure how difficult it would be.

That actually sounds like a really interesting idea. I can see how a 3D printed version could hold up much better than cardboard, especially if you play often. I haven’t done any 3D printing myself, but I imagine designing it with compartments for all the pieces could be a bit tricky. Would love to see what kind of designs people come up with!

@barnee I don’t mind giving it a go at some point … I think the trick is the size. Strategically placing the joins etc. the actually modelling will take literally 15 minutes.

they’re talking about a 3D-prinatble version of this thing:

That would be cool, and a complete piece of cake to model! I’m swamped at the moment but maybe I can sneak that in…

Was thinking about giving this a go … do we have measurements of the original ?
