scramble ?
-
Perhaps you might allow the German fast to be in India? It was the intent, but forgot to make the move after the scramble decision.
-
normally i would, and you know from all our history playing together that i would. however, i too had a very similar, equally bad blunder a few rounds ago and i was pretty clear i fully intended to send my russian figs but totally glitched when i woke up and rushed the turn before jumping into my work meetings. i got no forgiveness on that, so apparently this will be a game of blunders…
-
@axis-dominion You didn’t ask for it to be fixed, and that was after dice were rolled. And after that mistake, we both continued with our typical edits without asking. Drawing the line here is inconsistent, as you said.
-
i didn’t ask but i was very upset about the blunder and stated what my intentions were clearly, i was expecting you might volunteer to offer me a second chance without me having to ask or beg lol. yes dice were rolled but that battle was very inconsequential. and realizing the mistake after a scramble decision request is posted as in this case is very much equal to a dice roll, in terms of being able to take back and redo or edit. i blundered big and you jumped on it, and now we’re even. there’s no way you’d take india any time soon otherwise and this would be a different game right now.
-
It is not up to me to offer the edit because I’m not the one making the move. This edit was also not simply a move, it involved undoing an attack or doing it with a different amount of units, the details of which need to be decided by that nation’s player.
We are not even, because I have not refused an edit.
-
Also I didn’t “jump on it”. I asked for a bogus scramble order so that no dice are rolled before you see the situation.
-
again from my perspective, it is a very similar situation. of course i would want a rollback, i’ve invested countless hours only to make such an obvious mistake, if i didn’t want a rollback why would i even mention what my intention was? i didn’t think i needed to ask explicitly, and was disappointed that you didn’t even offer.
earlier in the game before my obvious blunder, when you left your two tps vulnerable to an easy sub snipe, i had the courtesy to ask you if that was intentional, and if it was, i was very willing to offer you an edit, even tho a whole turn had gone by…
one thing i’m willing to do, if you’re up for it, is rollback to that russian turn and allow me to redo it. that would cancel both blunders and we move forward from there.
otherwise. a blunder for a blunder, and i think we should get your scramble decision and move on.
-
Let’s just scrap the game.
-
sounds good to me

@axis-dominion FWIW all the recent SL games had our wheels turning and @Stucifer and I are in the middle of a test game where Axis force SL despite max turtling by London. 19 inf bought between UK 1+2, used TP from 112 -->109 to kill 2 German units dumped in Scotland. No scrambles, kept all air in London and brought up the fig from Gib. Here are the odds on the SL, and this is with a somewhat ridiculous 13 TPs:
And with a tac bomber added in that was lost on G1:
So with average dice and massive investment in TPs, they still have to kill 2 planes to take London with 1 land unit. And Russian will be a juggernaut in a game like that.
-
Pardon the thread invasion. I have been summoned and peeked at page 15 discussion of Sealion.
@axis-dominion I opted not to SL (at least this round 😈) in our game as my odds if you threw everything + the kitchen sink into defending London I was at around 30%
Mentioned to @mikawagunichi that for a stronger defense of London he had to move the carrier to 94 like you did in our game, but he’s trying to see if holding Calcutta using the Egypt planes sets him back too far. Since London fell I think it did, although UK Pacific will be healthy for a long time.
I think a SL-dominant meta would shift Axis bid lower if it continues to be difficult to counter and win against as Allies. Especially at an even playing level
-
Clarifying that I only pointed the carrier to 94 out when I was mulling over how bad my odds for London are in my game with AD. Your positioning in our game is excellent to prevent a SL. It is by dint of dice that allows a good player to challenge a great player like you or Adam and have a chance
