I'm tinkering around with a new German opener - ignoring SZ 110

I’ve played third reich. There is both an 80s version, and a 90s version of that game. They are quite different. However, it is alot simpler and smaller than WiF. I am currently playing a game called Scorched Earth, Urals Mod in the Europa System. This game has baseunits being divisions and regiments. It playes the entire war on the eastern front. Each space is a hexagon at about 25 km accross. you usualle have about 3000 pieces on the map at any given time, when only playing the eastern front. If you play once a week, you will actually use like 8 years to play the 4 years from 41 to the end of 45.

Umm, this is rarely possible.

Although I tend to agree with your point about focusing mostly on the Europe side as USA.

If you’re talking about how the units function, you’ll find them in the “Unit Profiles” section of the Europe 1940 and Pacific 1940 rulebooks, which are downloadable here:

I like it!  Its crazy but again this game is based upon dice in the end. If it was a low luck game then I would have to reconsider.

Also if Japan holds off until J2 to DoW, but the US player is either dead certain it will happen or hopes to discourage Sea Lion, they can slap a Naval Base on Greenland and load it up with their starting Atlantic forces US1, then drop the troops off in Scotland or Ireland US2.  If London is saved at that point, you’re still in a decent position to threaten landings from France to Norway, or even farther if the UK player can be accommodating enough to give you a Naval Base.

The Italian infantry piece is the same design as before.  The Italian equipment sculpts are all new, including a new tank sculpt representing a slightly different model of Italian tank than the one from Anniversary.  One nice feature about the new Italian equipment sculpts is that their shade is a much better match to the shade of the troop sculpts; in previous games, the equipment pieces were too dark.
