Thanks @VictoryFirst , it’s our loss that we can’t play with you for awhile.
Thanks for the go ahead on the G40, and don’t worry about the tournament because the other guys were cool
I wish the best to you, and will be great when you come back

@gamerman01 Thanks! I didn’t know the piece limits for generic units apply to ALL powers (while in fact, it’s quite logical although didn’t think about it). This makes it quite interesting, you can buy ICs just to make sure your opponents can’t! 😂

I am glad you posted,
I really didn’t want to ambush you with this but I feel I already kind of have. Well, it’s double elimination…
I am REALLY enjoying this game, I’m so glad the guys got me to play 2 Classic games a year ago. I’m curious what your A&A background is. You definitely have skills and experience.
Furthermore, since we are not sitting together playing with physical pieces (unfortunately), I need to use the comment log to specify what fighters are on what carriers when allied carriers share a zone, which I will do with this US turn…

Combat Hit Differential Summary :
@VictoryFirst @gamerman01 outside of AA guns and industrial complexes, you can have an infinities amount of any unit type - you just can’t break them into more groups than there are pieces. For example: there are only three bombers available for each power. The USA can have 8 bombers on the board - they just can’t be in more than three groups at any given time. They cannot break into more than three groups to make attacks, etc.
Hopefully that makes sense.

Thank you, I enjoy this game too.
I’ve started playing A&A when I was 12 years old. My mother wanted to buy something from an online shop but the final price was just under the free shipping limit. So she offered me to buy something from that site so that there would be free shipping. I was fond of board games and I also had a growing interest in WW2 so a WW2 board game appealed me. After some searching I found this game called Axis and Allies 1941. Very cheap and it looked cool, so I put it in the shopping cart. After that, I came into contact with the game for the first time and immediately fell love.
At some point I bought Europe and Pacific 1940. I’ve played over a 100 solo games of Global. It was funny as I thought I had an unbeatable Allied strategy. Later I found out the Axis are considered to have a large advantage. I’ve never really played G40 on the forums so I have never figured out if my Allied strategy was actually unbeatable or just my Axis play being flawed (I think the latter one). It has been too long ago so now I don’t know anymore the exact details of the strategy, so I guess we’ll never know.
Joined this site in 2021 but have not played actively until this year. Finished high school last year and am currently taking a gap year so now I’ve lots of time to play.
You definitely have skills and experience.
Ha, I take that as a compliment from someone who is in the top of the G40 League standings! Although I don’t think I have that much experience compared to most people playing here. With the exception of Original Europe (and G40 but that was too long ago), I have never really stacked many games of any version. The_Good_Captain for example has played 50+ games of Anniversary 1941, 100+ games of Classic, 40+ games of 1914, compared to 5, 1 and 8 games for me respectively 😂

OK, so if you were playing with the board game this wouldn’t be an issue, because you take the units you’re buying and put them to the side.
So online if you accidentally have all 3 bomber groups away from the IC’s and it is impossible for you to place the bomber you purchased, I would think that bomber would just be lost, consistent with similar rules.
But since we’re online and we’re all sportsmanlike, I suppose we would simply allow an adjustment of noncombat. And if it still isn’t possible to remedy the situation (an illegal 4th bomber would need to be placed), players would just work it out (allow refund or change of purchase)?
Or how do we want to proactively deal with this potential problem?
@gamerman01 if its me - I would just let them make a reasonable repurchase. but thats me - I dont like to spank anyone with “gotchas”. If mandatory NCM moves cannot resolve the situation (eg a bomber flying back to an industrial center or a carrier floating back to the west coast) I would lean towards the money being reverted to their bank and be available to be spent next turn. Punishment enough imo. But not a hill I will die on. Am totally willing to take it on a case by case basis content in its rarity.
@The_Good_Captain Excellent! And we are on the same wavelength, nice.
I was thinking about the draconian rule that you lose all the ships you purchased if an enemy sub withdrew into your zone. So it’s good that we’re not being as strict as possible

Even if this example occurred, it would not prevent the placement of said naval units as we are using this optional rule from page 31:
Thanks for the background, I’m glad I asked!
Great story
I’ll just go ahead and boldly suggest you try playing a game of global 40 in the league and see what you think. Players of all abilities.
OK, now if you’ll excuse me, I think I’m supposed to play UK 🤔
Ah, optional rule,
THANKS! Normally when I get service like this I have to pay a big bill and a big tip, too!
Holy cow that page has been with me for 34 years, and it’s right here on my desk right now! Copyright 1986 (yeah I got it in 1991) and I have access to a man who’s an expert in the game so I can play this fascinating game with players around the world, for free, without leaving my house.
Call me happy 🙃
