Setup complete. Plating against chatgpt now and it made some horrific mistakes. My Italian navy destroyed the British Mediterranean fleet in turn 1 😂
Hi All,
I created these setup sheets/cheat sheets for an upcoming game. They’re designed so that each player can sit down and have most of what they need to know in front of them all the time.
Example:
Download all the sheets here: [https://www.mediafire.com/file/je5iw8q2v16g0qt/Simnos_Setup_Sheets.docx/file](link url)
Feel free to use them in your own games, or change them as you see fit. I’ve put them on the Word file I worked from so everything is editable. I’ve printed mine on glossy paper and I think they look great. I may laminate them too so they last.
If you see any mistakes please let me know (especially if you see them before my game on 13/10/24).
Additional note: I have slightly changed the factions so that the US player has control of ANZAC and the UK player has China. I just prefer it that way. If there’s a will for it I could probably do an altered sheet with the original combinations.
@Simnos they look great. Doesn’t France go last though?
@Darth-Vahl you’re right! Thanks. Will look to fix that and re-upload when I get a chance.
I don’t think it will make a difference in many games though.
@Simnos probably not. They look great and I’d love to print these up for new players to use.
Thanks, I used your sheets as a template to tweak around with and I build a new template for some player sheets I wanted to create. Having all those boxes was a little hard on the eyes so I went with a little cleaner version, and to allow that nice background art punch through a little more.
I made it for an 8.5x11 sheet and you should be able to place the faction roundels on the board at the designated locations to help easier track National Objectives and State of War (although the latter is usually easy to keep track of).
Anyways here is a sample of what I did with the Germany sheet you posted.

@throgmorton That looks beautiful mate. I’d definitely switch to yours for my next game if you want to post them!
@Simnos happy to share, I still consider them WIP but please let me know if you see any errors or if I omitted something that maybe useful. Right now a lot of the text is verbatim from the rule book so I do want to try and streamline it. I also couldn’t figure out where you sourced your background images from but ideally I would like to have a unique one for each (right now they recycle some of the others). So if you have any similar that could be used for the minor powers let me know.
Anyways here is how they look so far…

Look Way Sweet !
@Black_Elk has a buncha images he’d probablly turn you on to. There in triplea in his UHD map. Can’t do zip files here, so Idk how to post them, other than individually.
get mget
I doubt he’d mind. Idk. He’ll let us know :)
Edit
yea go to triplea and DL UHD Global.
Open it up until you get to flags folder
or
Chat me and I can send it to your email
@barnee thanks I’ll have a look but I thought tripleA was more for maps and units and stuff, not wallpaper art that is being used for the backdrop of the faction sheets.
ahh I misunderstood. I thought you were looking for different roundels/flags :)
@throgmorton Fantastic! I just made the background images with AI, which is why some of the faces are a bit wonky. I could have a go at making some new ones.
What do we need? France and Anzac?

That’s part of why I wasn’t too worried about covering up the background images, because there were some pretty obvious imperfections in them which were covered up by the boxes, but the overall composition of the image still looked good. But I might be able to make some better ones
@Simnos yeah that would be great. So it basically the minor powers China, France, ANZAC. Although since your sheets had US & ANZAC together the background for that one seems to have both flags. So I could use it for either I guess.
@throgmorton try these: https://www.mediafire.com/folder/sm36vn9xsy5dp/Setup_Sheets_new_images
I’ve done the minor factions. I’ve also redone the british one, partly cause in the image there are British and Chinese forces combined, and also because the guys face in the foreground was annoying me.
I’ve labelled the ones I think are the best for each faction, but there are also some backups in there in case you like them better. Happy to revisit.
@Simnos @throgmorton these are looking incredible, guys, can’t wait to see the finals
@Simnos Thanks I downloaded them.
Lol, I actually liked the original British one you had with the close up of the spitfire flying low (didn’t really notice the guys face though). But once you mentioned AI, I took a closer look at the pictures and did notice some weird artifacts, especially some of the small planes in the sky but those were easy enough to take out.
Anyways I have updated them with the new art, and will definitely repost them so you guys can use them as you like.
I’m still trying to see if there is a better way to present the Combat Forces (it’s the only hard box I have left).
@vodot Thanks its definitely a process…
I was actually looking back at some of my first drafts originally for instance here was Japan (don’t have file anymore but scanned from a printout).

I had lots of boxes to contain the information, and realized things like margins on the outside edge were to small and the spaces for the roundels to sit on the sheet were too small, some of the font sizes were definitely on the small size.
So I corrected and it looked more like this (Germany scanned from printout)

But finally I switch from portrait to landscape and dropped almost all the boxes to bring out the background art and not have it contained to that small political situation box.
