Can a damaged carrier keep attacking in round 2 of the sea battle in an amphibious assault?

In this scenario the transports were already in the SZ so they would not be allowed a retreat. However, if they left the SZ and came back in then they could retreat.

Imagine it conceptually as the repair having to occur on the turn AFTER the damage was incurred.

So if on turn 1 your BB takes a hit, and it ends its turn adjacent to a naval port, the damage repair will occur on turn 2 during the purchase/repair phase.

Now keep in mind that if your BB gets damaged on turn 1, but does NOT end its turn adjacent to a friendly naval base, then you won’t be able to repair the damage on turn 2, because you’ll only have an opportunity to move your BB to a naval base during combat or noncombat movement phase, which happens AFTER the purchase/repair phase. So you’ll have to move the BB to the naval base on turn 2, and then repair it on turn 3.

I think you can, and here’s a situation:

You WANT the cruiser dead, but you NEED (as in if you don’t get it you’ll lose the game) 3 of your 5 subs to do whatever. Perhaps mount an attack on some transports defended by 2 destroyers. So you defend with 2 subs, knowing that come whatever dice you have 3 subs left to do sub stuff. You still have the 2 to defend.

Unlikely?
Totally.

Possible?
Possibly.

My foolproof plan to beat Russia:
-a huge stack in Finland
-a huge stack in Poland
-a huge stack in Romania
-tons of planes

And to hold off the western allies:
-huge stacks in several places like Germany, seazones etc…

Yes its one turn early, but its not that huge of a swing, esp if Japan can go up nearly 20 with the UK going down 7 for the US to go up 30.
