@Elrood When I click to save a save game in the new format in this feed, the game link shows up in the upper right-hand corner of my screen as before. But if I click on it, it doesn’t open. The Triplea icon appears but the app stalls and Task Manager doesn’t always show it to end the task. So, I have to restart my computer.
So, I have to open the 2.6 program icon and then type in the save game. -

Is the game really over? An easy victory is certainly beyond the CPs and the Entente are doing okay, but we have hardly won yet.

UK is fighting for its life in Cairo and India, so I’m surprised Colt is pessimistic. Although, I think I have stabilized the Mideast.
1914 game does reflect the Schlieffen plan strategy or thinking, which states that the initial thrust into Belg/Fr must be quick and powerful to quickly take Paris and thus take out France before they are doomed to a 2-front war.The 1914 game is structured so that F can outbuild G on the Western front. So, any delay in taking Paris within the narrow window of opportunity, means G can never overcome. Then the game shifts to other fronts and other powers. But the game is also structured so G can’t outbuid R on the Eastern front.
It might be more interesting if the game were modified so that G remained offensively potent on the Western front or could shift units to the Eastern front, or could open against the Eastern front first like G General Moltke proposal. As the map is structured, G can’t take out R first.
