How do I make my own custom A&A map IRL?

Added another G40 version of my WWII details to include Shaded/Colored Axis territories and propaganda images. Both versions (Shaded territories/propaganda images OR without) can be purchased at Combat Miniatures (combatminiatures.org)

@Midnight_Reaper Thanks. These are cool but not exactly what I am looking for. I will keep looking as I don’t know if it is ok to post a picture of the map here to show you exactly what I mean. The Canadian mapleleaf is good but I am looking for the fascist Italian roundel, the Russians have a star instead of the traditional OOB, the German iron cross is similar except that the background is grey instead of red and then ANZAC has been modified with a blue circle emblem. I am also new to all of this so if it sounds like I don’t know what I am really talking about…that is because I dont really know what I am talking about.:grinning:

I was able to get the names font, but the number font is a licensed font, so I bought that. I have the water layer and the sea zone layer in. Ive decided to redo the entire map from scratch though, retaining the gameplay, same zones etc. My French units are in the decal phase, so after I post them, ill start my map thread. Again, if its edits you like, let me know.

I’m not aware of such a blank outline map existing.  Your best option might be to cover the game map with several taped-together sheets of clear acetate (the kind used for purposes like overheard projection) and trace the borders with a felt pen to produce a blank outline.  You’d then have various options for transfering this outline to the wood surface.  A low-tech method would be to cover the wood surface with sheets of carbon paper (if you can still find any, since it’s gone out of style), place your acetate outline over the carbon paper, then trace over the borders with a hard pencil.  Alternately, you could scan or digitally photograph your acetate outline and use that as the printing file you mentioned.

Man now I wish I had some new stuff to share. But I didn’t finish any pieces  I started recently…. I did do quite a few Hungarian pieces but I was waiting till I did the Air Force as wel before I snapped a pic.

I lost a lot of time recently on the battlefield 1 beta.

No problem, you have inspired me to get back to painting. Due to health reasons, I haven’t done anything in a year, but I’m about to least, do some small jobs, here and there.

Can’t wait to see your Hungarian pieces. :-)

Hello all.  I thought I would solicit your thoughts on which types of pieces in any version of A&A scream for painting the most.

IMHO, the most confusing piece on the board in the original Pacific and Pacific 1940 is the USA fighter in China.  Having to differentiate between a Chinese fighter that looks American and any USA fighters in that zone seems like a headache waiting to happen.

Otherwise, I would say the pro-Axis and pro-Allies neutrals in Europe 1940 need attention.  The fact is that upon being attacked, you’re supposed to pick any random country to donate an infantry to that territory.  If the attacker doesn’t win, the infantry stay there but cannot be moved.  Seems like confusion might set in eventually.

HBG has British infantry for sale. I bought 25 and painted them white to use for neutral armies.
