@Myygames For some reason it’s saying incompatible version when I try to open it, did you accidentally open it on a different version?
No, it is the 2.6 version. I posted manually from trippleA (this does seem to work only sometimes??)
-
@Myygames interesting, it still isn’t working for me for some reason
-
It worked fine in my last game to open the same save files
-
That ist strange. I have not changed anything between Japan and Italy…
I will rebuild the file later and post. Maybe it does a difference. Can you tell me OOL based on the above turn summary? Then I can post the final file…

Myygame_VS_TinCanoftheSea_I1rebuild_CM.tsvg
I have rebuild the situation. Let me know if that fixes it.
My TrippleA version is 2.6.14366, let me know if yours is different
-
@Myygames
This is what I’m still getting, tried several times and nothing is working. Maybe @gamerman01 can help? -
Sorry, I’m not very knowledgeable about Triple A versions and incompatibilities. I have issues myself, I can’t post to forum and just save the file and upload it.
In my experience it seems different iterations of 2.6 are generally compatible between themselves.
It looks like this is a good place to go - is active

I confess I haven’t ever used this thread but it looks helpful
-
@gamerman01 alright thanks for the input, hopefully we can figure it out
-
Can you try to download and open my Japan turn? If that works we could rebuild the file from there? I wonder what has caused the crash…
-
I would start with trying to load all the other posted games here. I know you could load my Japan turn earlier, cause you did US. Also, try to download you own UK turn in both versions ( there was a scramble request)
We can then maybe tell where the game had been opened with the wrong version. Also, if you are not able to open the Japan turn it means that there is another problem.
I have realized that you are using another version than I. Both are 2.6 but yours is newer. I will also try to upgrade my version an redo my Italy turn. Maybe that helps.
One of these options must work, else I have no idea what to do.

Myygame_VS_TinCanoftheSea_I1rebuildNEWESVERSION_CM.tsvg
I have downloaded the newes tripplea version: TripleA_2.6+14696
I have opened your UK1 file with that and re-did the I1 moves. Result is above safe.Anyways, I noted that I CANNOT open this file with my old 2.6 version (2.6.14366) anymore, and I get a similar error to what you showed above (InvalidClassException)
So, my recommendarion would be: You also download the latest 2.6 release (TripleA_2.6+14696), and then we should be good. Pls let us try that.
-
The other option I see would be to start over in version 2.5. this is the last stable version and has worked well in the past in play by email mode.
-
Sorry again busy with the holiday weekend that version does work for me but I guess it doesn’t for you if that’s correct? I can open the other games people are playing just fine. Thought I had the latest but I guess maybe not
-
It is good that you can open the file. We could continue now, nevertheless I also have some fears that this situation might reoccur. I have played G1 and J1 with a version that seems not compatible to your current one. It worries me that this might happen again.
I would actually vote for a restart in version 2.5. This version is stable and has been used a long time now. True, it does not include a possibility to post to the forum (this is broken because of incompatimbility with the current forum software), but in the end we dont want to use the forum post anyways, and we can use play by email instead. Given the fact that we are only in year one I would vote for a complete restart with new dices and all. I dont think that this will change much.
If you do not agree to that we could also try to continue the current version. But, as I said, I fear that we might have issues again, and the longer we continue with the existing game the more we will have put into and the worser another breakdown becomes.
Let me know what you think!
-
@Myygames Yeah I’m fine with switching it to play by email, I’ll stick with the same bid
-
I have done the same g1 and assumes the same behaviour of the allies (no scrample, 111 fights).
Here is the result. Russia is up!
