I have been thinking hard about this since the hour you posted.
I like to be generous with edits - more so than most. Sometimes, I’ll even point out to my opponent small missed but obvious NCM movements that he/she overlooked (an ANZAC CA forgotten to join the US fleet, or Russian AA guns not moved).But this is a heavy request. I went through history a couple of times, trying to look at it from different angles, and I don’t see how this was a forgotten move or a misunderstanding. You even moved the Indian ocean squadron into SZ 100, but then decided to move it back. You re-enforced Gib with a fig, but a fig alone. Which would have been very unwise if you had intended to stack your navy in SZ 100. By your positioning, your fleets were safe from attack from the Italians, doing a German air assault on the SZ 94 fleet would have been a pyrrhic victory for the Axis, and an assault on Egypt would have resulted in the loss of the Italian fleet IF Transjordan had not been taken. You missed that in planning your move. I doubt you will miss it again any time soon.
To me all of this seems like an error in your play, not a simple “I forgot an NCM.” One that was only revealed after I did my move. With that logic, any battle that showed a missed opportunity could result in an edit of the entire turn before and a redo. That’s not a game. Amongst players of equal caliber, there are only 2 factors that determine the winner - lopsided dice, and unforced errors (I lump a bad strategy in this, as, in the end, that is error only made by the player themselves). This is an unforced error, as I see it.
HOWEVER, I don’t like the idea of getting a win on this turn alone. I don’t think the overall situation for the Allies is that bad. I have played out both sides of the board a few times, 2 rounds out, just to see if it was futile to continue or not. The allies are in a tough position, no doubt, but I don’t see it hopeless at all.
I’d like to play out, but it’s your call. If you don’t see any hope, it’s not going to be fun for you, and I don’t want that. I’d be happy to start another game right off the bat if you do call it, or not. No hard feelings any way you decide.
If you do decide to play it out - you had a TT that you bought for the UK Europe but did not place last turn. By OOB rules, which stand in PTV unless there is a specific rule otherwise, you don’t have to place it, but it is returned “to the box” and the IPC value is returned to your treasury. We will want to make that edit.
