    Scramble to SZ 35 or the Carolines?

    Damn. Not sure what I was thinking - other than I have been mentally over-whelmed in this game since J2. When you posted J3, I knew I would lose, but thought I’d play out a few rounds so I could learn. Somehow in my head I thought I would prep for a hail-mary next round, but instead made a colossal mistake, plain and simple, and I don’t see the point in continuing. From here, I just lose, with no true lessons to be learned.

    I thank you for the game. I have already spent some time analyzing it and have more to do. Much to learn. This map is soo much different from OOB/BM4, and each time I play it, my opponent shows some other angle that I didn’t know existed. I think I will need to clear my game schedule, and play just 1-2 PTV games very carefully and slowly, when I do decide to play this map again. Later in the season.

    Strong opening in the Atlantic theater and Russia; much stronger than most novices to PTV. Made me think hard there. Still, the Axis can hold its own there. Planned to reinforce the Shan State during the NCM with everything available. Would not be able to take E. India next round (Round 7) but with minor IC in Malaysia and FIC, the prospects for E. India are gloomy.

    I agree that PTV is a different beast. I try not to play more than two games at time, because it requires so much planning.

    @ArtofWar1947
    I appreciate the compliment on the Europe side - it’s my stronger side in all versions. Both for axis and the allies.

    The pac side is my biggest weak point, and the force projection is so much different than the normal map, I had no idea what to do. I understand you point on the planning - I was putting a solid 2 hours into this game each turn, and my head would spin looking at Japan.

    I appreciate your input. Happy hunting. Look forward to another game with you in the future.

    I look forward to our next challenging and interesting game (not without some unease).
