I like all the old versions, this one, and the original Europe and Pacific being my favorites. Revised is pretty good too. I’m actually not a huuuge fan of the newer ones. I don’t like some of the changes like transports not being able to defend, aircraft too cheap, changes to SBR & AA guns, etc.
That being said, I’m open to playing pretty much any version! We should do a chronological review of the series lol.
I’ve actually never played Global, the only version I haven’t played yet. (As well as Bulge & Guadalcanal. I’ve pre-ordered Guadalcanal so I’ll be able to play it soon tho!)

Aircraft are definitely too cheap.
The guys in the league developed a mod to G40, and they increased the bombers to 14, and now nobody (except for me) buys them.I’m a little interested in learning new versions, I’ve only played global ones. So I’ve never played anything like Guadalcanal (and isn’t there a D Day) - I wonder what those are like.
1914 WWI looks interesting too

Yeah. D-Day, Bulge, and Guadalcanal were all released before Anniversary, which I kinda consider the cut-off point between old and new.
