@VictoryFirst No, the best powers for a newbie are Italy/Arabia/USA.
When players want an easy or quick turn, they would choose Italy/Arabia, whose theaters of operation are local. When we lost a player, we combined USA with them. USA is also a good starter position, as the early turns are just spent expanding on manifest destiny against neutrals, and the German opening gambit to Mexico (we’ll explain later). Afterwards, as USA income and units grow, it’s homeland is safe, and USA can choose where to shore up the Entente. Elrood might fill you in on playing USA in this past game.
Turk/Com requires a strong player now that the industry tech opening bid has been removed. Turks face UK from India and must try to take Cairo, while facing naval war with UK.
