I want to clarify a few things before we start:
Are we using battle calculators? Are we sending the files to each other here or over email? The play by email function is broken (technical issues) on my end, so we can’t use that (we’ll just have to use the local game function and I’ll track dice to ensure neither of us are cheating). I hope this is okay. Are we using research and development/tech rules?OOB Oysteilo +40 v Gamerman01 with tech - UHD map

I have a hard time following, øet me take a closer look
I am very sorry, I no doubt could have presented it better
I’ll just blame Triple A
OK, maybe I won’t have any ships to try and save against the coming heavy bombers, let’s see what happens next
-
Also, I fouled that up, thinking you would only have 1 ship remaining instead of 2, I apologize for that, but you did cut right through the misinformation!
-
Hm, this is a little like the battle of Midway,
Japan decides that you sunk both carriers therefore all 4 planes have 0% chance of survival. But I am Japan, so I can do that. They already had their funerals.
Japan also has to lose 3 more units, so 3 subs along with 2 carriers are sunk
-
Aaaaaand I also messed up the order of combat, thinking this was the last one. So I was supposed to conduct amphibious assaults first. And now I see ANOTHER reason the combat order matters.
I was supposed to decide whether the battleship off Shantung was going to bombard (and hence stay there) before rolling 26.It’s likely nothing will even survive 26, but I will ask you to trust me that when I did the whole combat movement I decided that battleship will NOT bombard so that it can move. I doubt you care because I could need that supporting shot. I still don’t know how 26 will end up but I’m not doing this (I have to make a bombard decision after knowing 26) to take advantage.
At least I caught it after 1 round of combat and not after the whole thing :p :p -
So for round 2 we have
Japan also has to lose 3 more units, so 3 subs along with 2 carriers are sunk
Another mistake. I guess I’m not awake yet.
Hit to battleship, lose both carriers, lose 2 subs
-
So for round 2 we have
Japan
2 SS
2 DD
1 damaged BB
3 FTR
1 TAC
2 BMBvs
USA
1 DD
1 damaged CV
5 FTR -

It probably works to roll from Triple A from here, but I’ll keep it on the forum for consistency
Subs first but it doesn’t matter,
[dice 4d6<=2]
[dice 3d6<=3]
[dice 4d6<=4] -
4d6<=2: 2, 4, 6, 4; Hits: 1
3d6<=3: 3, 5, 1; Hits: 2
4d6<=4: 6, 2, 4, 3; Hits: 3 -
Japan overachieves again,
We have a hot battle,I will wait for your choice since you are available
Highly unlikely, but in case USA survives I need you to commit that you are losing the carrier -
@gamerman01 i save a usa fighter
-
I just realized you are only left with one unit, so I was silly,
but thank you!
You are a very patient and understanding person.USA tries for a perfect roll:
We have a DD and damaged CV and 5 FTR
[dice 2d6<=2]
[dice 5d6<=4] -
2d6<=2: 2, 3; Hits: 1
5d6<=4: 2, 2, 3, 2, 4; Hits: 5 -
I called it, that was as close to perfect as you could possibly be. Let’s see…
-
Well, that’s easy actually, I lose 2 SS, 3 FTR, 1 TAC
Can Japan close the deal?
2 DD, 1 damaged BB, 2 BMB
[dice 2d6<=2]
[3d6<=4]USA
[dice 1d6<=4] -
2d6<=2: 4, 4; Hits: 0
1d6<=4: 6; Hits: 0 -
Fortunately for me, a syntax error
[dice 3d6<=4]
-
3d6<=4: 5, 2, 5; Hits: 1
-
Now those were some fun dice.
In a way we both got luckyJapan limps away with
2 DD
1 damaged BB
2 BMB -
I really appreciate your sportsmanship and kindness. You got back to me with your decisions quickly, considering the time zone differences.
It is a shame I don’t know you in person, we would be good friends.
