When I was looking at it and adjusting NCM’s, it occurred to me that I shouldn’t have selected the default US/ANZAC casualties for SZ54. I think I should have chosen the two DD’s instead of the SS and 1 DD in the first round of combat, giving the US SS a chance to submerge if the defensive hits had been enough to sink the two Japanese ships, which means I would have selected my SS as a casualty so I could have hit the US sub on the second round of combat. So I edited to reflect that as well, swapping the japanese sub that survived with the DD instead. If you OK with this. Otherwise, we can re-roll the battle entirely on the forum.
Going forward, I’ll remember to save during combat so I can ask you for your choices.

I just realized I forgot to answer that question.
You can only bombard with 1 ship per landing unit. You landed with 2 units, that’s why you bombarded with 1 Battleship and 1 cruiser. The second cruiser didn’t bombard, because you would have needed to land with at least a 3rd land unit
By the way, +26 in SZ54, which went extremely well for you again.

No worries. I wanted the sub, just thought I erred in not giving your sub the possibility of submerging, and thus the optimum move for me at that point would have been to keep the DD and lose the sub so my air could continue to hit the sub.
Just make sure to ask for casualties in sea battles, especially when subs are involved.
I absolutely will do so going forward.
