Interesting back and fourth regading dice. Japan continues hemorrhaging ground units, but an airstrike with a positive TUV exchange against 11 men, especially when you have to expect to go into a second round, is a big relief for Japan.
Quite some battles for such an early game. Excited to see how this one unfolds from here.
@JDOW I thought I had to do it because if I didn’t he would otherwise have been able to stack Yunnan on round 2. I probably just needed the one round though as I just needed to do enough to prevent him from taking Yunnan with China. But yeah, that was a battle that went better than it could have.

Incorrect. If you kill everything but the AA, your units get sucked in to Normandy, and depending on the dice I might have just wanted that.
With 2 hits, take AA and French infantry.

Oh, I suppose you meant with 2 hits, that’s your thinking. Still, be careful to assume, I take unconventional casualties and do unconventional scrambles from time to time
@gamerman01 In this case because you don’t have a counter (unless you use allied air) I figured you wouldn’t want to draw me in. My goal was to take it. But my odds were around 94% so there was a possibility that you would win. And I thought you might be interested in conserving the AA if I was doing poorly.

If you did poorly, and finally hit everything but 1 unit, I might have saved the AA and drew in remaining units
The mech would be farther from Russia, and the slow would be 2 spaces from West Germany and North Italy, and that could be a factor too. I generally don’t like giving advance OOL’s, especially when my opponent won’t have to wait long. Sometimes anticipating all the possible OOL’s in advance make my brain hurt and I shouldn’t have to do them - advance OOL’s are a courtesy to the playing player and don’t benefit the defender

@gamerman01 All sounds fine to me. And I get that an OOL in advance is a favour to the attacking player. I don’t mind waiting. In this case I wasn’t asking for OOL in advance, just letting you know that I might need it once i rolled. I was assuming though that if I had a decent roll, that it was safer to assume a max D situation. I’ll be sure to ask if I think there is any uncertainty, and if I make that assumption in the future and I get it wrong, I’ll defer to you in how we correct that.
