I will call this game. My kamikaze attacks against Italy and France did not result in a breakthrough and Constantinople is about to fall. TUV difference is now over 300 and the Entente production is significantly higher.
I think I should have tried to trigger the Russian Revolution. Receiving the extra income from Moscow, Sevastopol, and Kazakhstan was nice, but during the whole game, I had a fear of the British moving to Sevastopol and liberating Russian territories. On top of that, I had to defeat the substantial remainder of the Russian army in Galicia myself. I think in the end, it wasn’t worth the cost.
I thought I had you when I was able to attack Alsace on turn 9. We both lost 40 infantry, and trading in this game is generally in the attacker’s favor as I only lose two points of attack for each infantry, and you three points of defense. However, the attack on Belgium on the 11th turn was a complete disaster for the CP and I think it was the turning point on the Western Front. I rolled -8.67, and you rolled +3. On average, I would have gotten a TUV change of +8 in that battle, but it turned out to be -30. And the following French counter-attack was lethal as well, resulting in another TUV swing of -28.
However, I think my strategic mistake of capturing the entirety of Russia was ultimately the deciding factor in the CP’s loss. If you moved up with the British to Sevastopol with a large army or to Tyrolia with the Italians and Americans in the mid-game, I think this game would have ended a lot sooner. My defenses were pretty weak and you could have grabbed a lot of income.
Thank you very much for playing. This was an exciting game until the end. Your strategy with the Entente was solid. Let me know if you want to play again! 😁

Thank you!
I was surprised to see that you think such early events (Belgium battle and not triggering the Russian Revolution) ultimately decided the game.
You certainly put up a tough defense in the Ottoman Empire, and I made a big mistake in delaying that British attack on Mesopotamia (I forgot that tanks essentially increase your power by 6).
Before I remembered the advantage tanks gave to the British, I was so sure that I was going to lose. You had so many fighters in the Middle East and it looked like I could never break through. Even that good dice in Belgium didn’t completely assuage my concerns until that successful attack in Mesopotamia.
That Belgian dice was painful.
I really thought this game would last until to August.
Good game. Maybe we can play The Good Captain’s D-Day mod?

Good you mentioned Mesopotamia. I wasn’t aware of its significance until you mentioned it. Yeah, the ability of tanks to soak up hits makes them one of the best units in the game, which I also did not realize until now. This game provided me with a lot of insights.
Sure we can play D-Day Balance! Which side did you want?
-
Germany. I learned that from The Good Captain.
