I take a look in your game against MrRoboto.
And we talk about the game but I say nothing to your tactic. My comment was : ich kenne niemanden der die Russen besser spielt als gamerman - I knew nobody who plays russians better than gamerman- you can follow our chat but its in german. -
Oh wow am I happy to hear that.
When I learned the game in high school and had to play against myself most of the time, back with old classic version I loved playing Russia the best.My family member (Boldresh on this site) thought he was unbeatable with Germany. He would always buy 6 tanks G1 and steamroll his little brother. From playing against myself, I discovered the great defensive power of infantry, and later discovered that the Allies could really get a lot to defend Moscow, quickly. You had to be quick because Germany takes and holds Karelia, builds units right there next to Moscow, and that’s game. One thing I did was buy a carrier on UK1 and then fly 2 US planes onto it US1. So 2 US planes were on Moscow US2.
I loved the tank miniatures, and I thought the Russian pieces were the best. I have always thought that my Russian play was unusually good, and playing online over the years I found this was true. So it means a lot if someone I’ve played several games with, says so.
You have learned to buy infantry and artillery exclusively, and you buy correct ratios of them. I am stalled out and just happy to not be retreating yet. I have some significant tips for you, but definitely not until I win this game :joy:
I know what it’s like to teach someone and they are then hard to beat and I even lose to them. JDOW played me, talked to me a lot, and shadowed me until he won back to back championships. So I humbly say I think I am an effective teacher.

We were in our teenage years when we discovered the game. When he came to my house for the first big showdown, he bought 6 tanks with Germany. I bought 8 infantry with Russia. He knew this was bad news for him so he immediately said “you can’t buy 8 infantry with Russia”. I asked why. He said because it’s unrealistic - the Russians in real life couldn’t have raised an infantry army like that so fast.
I guess he didn’t know history very well. After some argument, I held my ground and said it was according to the rules and probably pointed out that he bought 6 tanks. Pretty sure I went on to win. He challenged me dozens of games on this site years ago, and he didn’t win very many of them.

But Boldresh made me a much stronger player. Mainly because he was hyper-aggressive and always looking for gimmick plays. I learned to anticipate everything - the most aggressive and unconventional strategies you could think of.
I looked at PacifiersBoard game against Me1945 in the first round of the playoffs this year while I was waiting for a move from you, and checking out Me1945. PacifiersBoard played a lot like Boldresh. He’s the only one I’ve seen play like that since Boldresh. They like gimmicks especially attacking true neutrals, and building air and naval bases in odd places, by one ally to launch another ally.
So playing against this type of guerilla, desperate warfare did strengthen my play. When I prepare for a radical, surprise assault on Moscow, I am prepared for every single aircraft to come at me suddenly, and for my opponent to buy 3 tanks on Ukraine, 3 tacs on Leningrad, and as many strategic bombers as possible on West Germany. I have NEVER had anyone but Boldresh do this kind of thing, but I’m always ready for it.

I should make an edit before I go to bed. I made a mistake, because I see you can blitz Amur with no risk. I was OK with you driving into Korea, but I am not OK with allowing a blitz and back of Amur! I’m going to leave an infantry there so you can’t take it without a fight.
I trust that even if you started your USA move this is of no consequence, but you can disallow without giving any reason.
-
That is a big difference to me. I learned the classic version with 28. You have 20 years advantage.
But I conquer you- just for fun and in the end of the year maybe- for a classic game.
I play it 1-2 times a year - for fun and remember old times -
Normally is it a fast game.
-
If you still awake, here is something to think about during the night.
Scramble sz112, I will attack Denmark with USA. -
Scramble sz112 ?

Good Morning gamerman,
I have a question about the ranking in OOB.
What happend if I lose a game against, ArthurBomberHarris, Farmboy or AndrewAAGamer. Is there a difference for me in my ranking ? What is my ranking after the game. Now is 5,00.
I played allready against Farmboy and AndrewAAGamer and lose both.Have a nice day my friend
-
I don’t even have to see the map or your combat move and I know I will not scramble to 112.

Are you saying you don’t want to allow me to leave 1 infantry in Amur?
Or are you just saying you’d like to play me a game of the old “classic” A&A?
-
No, nothing with the inf. I dont write about the inf and Amur. Of course you can stay in Amur. I think about a battle 1inf vs 1 inf.
Was only about classic and a game. -
Thanks for confirming that -
I look forward to your big US/China/UK move
-
I forget to ask. Suicide attack in sz17 ?
-
You need 3 to be sure for the hit
-
The classic game in TripleA looks beautiful, I see.
I would love to play that with you any time you want.I should play it against the AI, even that would be fun.
I think I need a map for the kamikaze decision
-
Its the scramble file above
-
Oops, thank you for your courteous reply - I had overlooked that.
-
VERY interesting.
No scramble to 112, you may have your way with my Denmark.
I thank you for the very fun decision for Iwo and the analysis involved.
I want to rain down hell with FOUR brainwashed young kamikazes who want nothing more than to emulate the brave samurai from hundreds of years before them, in a divine wind that wipes away Khan’s fleet.
Or maybe it’s just because of parental pressure and that their friends are all doing it!!
Good luck, unsuspecting and naive Americans!
