I agree, change Colombia’s border with Venezuela in a way the Colombia does not touch 89.
Perhaps changing the shape, or moving Central America so that it ends up touching South America a bit to the east may be a lever to pull. But the shape of Central America as it is now, looks so beautiful. To agree with the boardgame, just gotta give Venezuela a bunch of Colombia, yes

So the first post has the how to install triplea instructions. It’s dated but mostly still pertinent. Here’s the instructions

Once you get that done you will need to download a prerelease. We don’t want the most recent as they are still being fine tuned.

You want the Windows 64 I don’t think 32 works still but it might. I’m just guessing you on windows 64 bit

you can also overwrite it and just have one when you install the pre but might as well have both :)

and then back to the top of the page. It shows you how to download manually but it’s easier to just download from triplea.

Latest Game Version is 2.54

So fire up triplea you should get this might look a little different on windows but same info

Note top left shows Engine Version 2.714962 that tells us we have the prerelease mentioned above. Go to Download Maps “Global 40 Expansion UHD Boxes”

Install

Note it usually takes 3 times to go to 100% and then back to 0% and then 100 again. It was worked on and maybe the newer pre has fixed it but that’s how it does it for me.

So wait until it just stops on 100%

Close takes you back to Start Screen. Then Select Game Screenshot from 2026-01-28 15-40-31.png

The first notification will tell which Game Version you have. 2.54 is latest

To have only certain “Game Options” selected after selecting the game but before starting it go to “Game Options”

The ones on the left are mostly just triplea stuff. You can see Type XXI U-boats bottom of 5th row. If you don’t want to use them, simply deselect.

Note after a game starts you can save and before you restart you can deselect or select an Option. It won’t kick in until Germany’s next turn though. Also it will still show up in the TimeTable.

If deselected before you first start the game it won’t show up. I’ll try and fix it for if you forget after Game Start to turn something off like I always do but then we usually have all options on :) Trout and I have started not using the XXI U-boats.

The Help tab top left has the in game “Game Notes” that explains how triplea implements the HRE rules.

unfortunately you have to close the window if you go somewhere else it’ll remain open or shrink it.

Didn’t used to be like that but i bitched for years about the change and was ignored as usual.

Anyway, you’ll want to read those. They’re mostly up to date but I’m still clarifying certain things and some of it has become dated. It’s mostly accurate though.

So if you can get triplea installed, which I believe you have in the past or perhaps that was someone else’s machine, you’ll be pretty much good to go.

So most likely if you have any trouble it will be with the install. If we have to, we’ll ask Panther to help but I think you should be OK.

Just hit yes on all the prompts and then follow the Dogs instructions for having multiple tripleas installed. He’s on windows so should be easier to follow.

This is what my Triplea looks like after it’s installed. I have a Big T TripleA and a small t triplea.

The Big T is where the releases go and some other stuff

So you can see 14962 is in there and then I have another release 15330 which is in a different folder. That’s basically how you have more than one.

The small t folder is the one you’ll be using. That’s where the downloadedMaps and savedGames are

savedGames you’ll be using a lot. You’ll be adding and deleting to them as your games progress.

The hilighted one is our current multi with Alex Panzer and Trout :)

All the final saves are in the Game Threads but I have them all saved in a separate folder as well.

If I ever get real bored or find the time I’ll update Victory’s spreadsheet thingy with all the results :) Have to figure out how to do it first :)

Oh yea I probably should put this up top but you will want a game specific email for the die rolls and to register with the Marti dice Server. You should use either protonmail or GMX as they both work.

Idk if gmail or the yahoos are working now or not.

You are right, in a created scenario TripleA allowed loading the transport that has been part of the battle during NCM, which is against the rules.

I have Pacific 1940 2nd ed. game that I bought in May '13 or thereabouts. Convoy rules are on pp. 22-23. They read like the Europe/L.Harris rules that Gargantua has cited: units roll dice, 2 for a/c and subs, and 1 for others. Rolls of “3” or less are tallied, etc. Exactly like my Europe '40 2nd ed. rulebook in game I purchased the same day.

The Pac. '40 2nd ed. rulebook in A&A.org / Resources section is like the one that came with my game.

I did look at Avalon Hill site for Pac. '40 2nd ed. rulebook and it reads the way that Gargantua is citing for Pacific rules, units do an amount of convoy ipc damage without rolling dice. Looked again at cover of that book, however, and it does not indicate “2nd Edition”. Seems like a bad link at AH site. Rulebook link on Pacific '40 2nd ed. page opens 1st ed. book?

Also confirmed that my Pacific rulebook on pg. 10 says that China is not subject to convoy disruption, as P@nther previously noted.
