I apologize for the delay. Japan has the Allies in a pickle, and I’m trying to go through the options to see which is the lesser of the evils. I probably will not have time enough to complete this process until the weekend when I have more than an hour or two of free time.

A sim of the ANZAC CM allowed a fighter from Queensland to attack the TT in SZ 36 (without a sub attacking the Japanese fleet in a SZ 55 in an effort (however futile ) of allowing the ANZAC CV in SZ 65 to recover the fighter in SZ 45. My understanding of the rules is that there has to be at least a theoretical possibility of recovering the fighter by sending a sub to attack SZ 56 (i.e., a suicide attack by the fighter is not allowed). Is my understanding of the rules or the sim correct?
