@cwglee51 Hey what version of tripleA is this?
22L PTV playoff GeneralDisarray vs Nikola1975 (Ax+12)
-
@nikola1975 Generally for OOL like to play by play for the bigger battles. And as far as I know it will let you bring more planes when you build AC carriers but is still considered an illegal move to bring more planes then you have capacity for. Let’s see what gamerman01 might have to say.
-
For the attack itself, it wasn’t an illegal move, all which are attacking do have a place to land.
The only question is can they land on newly created carriers if those which they could land on, are killed? Waiting for @gamerman01 to clear it up. I probably couldn’t land them, but it would be good to know before finishing the battle, to know how to select casualties.

@nikola1975 Be a Ac and Bs wound for now think I counted the planes correctly don’t think you had extra movement there.

@generaldisarray Kill them as the game suggests?
-
@nikola1975 Yes leave Americans last

Ok, it is over. I have selected planes which should land on carriers (which died) as casualties, so no need to check on the rule for this instance, but it would still be good to know for the future.

Buying the carriers for placement in a zone where the planes could land makes the planes’ attack legal, as you said.
Then it doesn’t matter what carriers the planes land on. They can land on the newly placed ones, or any undamaged carriers that were already on the board.
If you have more detailed question, let me know. I didn’t think it was necessary to open up your game but I will if asked. I also don’t find it necessary for me to look it up in the rule book, but if asked, I will find page number and show you exactly.
Game on!

Also, you may already know this but just in case:
You can change where you were going to mobilize the carriers for whatever carriers end up not being needed because planes were destroyed in the battle.
