@max334 good morning Max, I hope you are well.
The last thing I want is for you to have a bad experience here, I am pleased that you are playing on this site and in this league, and PLAYOFFS!
I believe that the best A&A players from around the world play here and our Playoffs are like our World Cup or Superbowl, for most of us it is pretty serious, it is for me at least. I’ve never beaten Ghostglider and I want to beat him this year!
When you say I have won, I can tell you that this isn’t the case in the game, as there is a LONG way to go, trust me.
With respect to our Playoffs and the League. Years ago we created the League as a way to record our statistics and to recognize the best players. Games in the league and certainly in the playoffs are more serious, as we record our league champion afterwards! I believe you will find that most, if not all, players playing for the championship would request a tight adherence to the rules.
There is another section/thread to play games called Play Boardgames, stats aren’t collected here and it is a great place to play a more relaxed game or to test strategies etc… I would love to play against you in that thread too, let me know if you would prefer this.
As an FYI, I could personally show you multiple “Oops” i’ve made in the league, where I have moved on from my blunder and tried to learn from my oversights. It happens, but mistakes in the game and war lead to losses. I would love to continue this game with you, our first I believe, but understand if you don’t want to play such a serious game. Again, I am happy for you to move both French pieces, as long as you will grant me the same request and we agree to eliminate these requests going forward.
I hope all this makes sense to you, and I appreciate the time you have taken to share your thoughts. Are you willing to buckle up and play the hardest A&A game of your life? If you do beat me in this game your next opponent will probably be tougher to beat! If not, let’s play in the play boardgames thread, with whatever house rules you want.
Speak soon,
Jim
