That is my understanding. It is inconsistent with the scramble rule for CVs, but whos says the game rules have to be logical. -
“Air units can be scrambled to help friendly units in adjacent sea zones.” (Would have put the CA in SZ 116 otherwise.)

In any case, it appears that the UK fighters do not have the range and landing on a built CV when there is no other landing area available is not allowed by the PTV rules.

I agree with the AB scrambling into a sz that only has transports. I remember that being answered before. I just wish it was notated somewhere. And I was thinking about using the french Fgt, landing on a UK CV.

Clever, which is why I am glad the rule implies to help ANY friendly unit.
I inquired once about about scrambling fighters to stop a UK landing from a US TT. My vague recollection is that the German fighters could not sink the US TT because it was not the US CM. I cannot recall if it prevented the amphibious assault. I believe it was a game against Trulpen last year.

@artofwar1947 there are a few obscure rules like this that, things that don’t happen often enough for my older, damaged brain to remember, that aren’t clearly specified anywhere.
My difficult decision here is what to do, defend London and hope to inflict lots of damage or leave the UK and put the immediate resources elsewhere.

And to make matters worse, running a simulation may or may not accurately reflect the rules. That is, I have run sims and then been told AA does accurately reflect the rules. Good grief!
Fight or flight is the bind intended–tough choice indeed.

I thought the Russians could not declare war until Turn 4 unless attacked. I even checked the rule book. This is why I did not attack the Russian CA with a SS and air on G3.
