How would that even look like? Dividing players into good and bad and then what? Sounds like a good way to alienate the players.
No - nothing formal. Just common sense. If the good players did ever gang up for game after game then it would just become boring for everyone.
-
@private-panic we can try…
-
@entek & @dawgoneit Okay, everyone but Entek and Dawg have signed up for another team game.
-
@fmerwinrommel Matt will play again and I suspect Wayne will , too.

While I empathize with the sentiment, i don’t think this is a realistically consistent possibility in a series of random roll-choice matches. But I acknowledge that some players(like myself) will value the propensity of good communication and rapport and (if given the opportunity) will choose allies that make a more engaged “team game” environment.
I consider myself a team game veteran while almost never playing 1v1 matches. I love the camaraderie in a match in which teammates point out my flaws and we can all point out new tactics that could be deployed.
This map is interesting, though, and I do take my perceived faction imbalance into account for nation selection. -
@colt45554 I also revel in the security a proper team game offers. My best games I had in XDAP 2 with nerquen, where we won the tournament unbeaten, by arguing lengthy over our moves, challenging each others proposition and detecting flaws in each others reasoing.
I cannot sit idly while my partner would do a sub par move on his own, neglecting the bigger picture.
-
I will be GB
-
@private-panic France , thanks .
-
@fmerwinrommel your choice of a nation. .
-
Hoorah I get to choose Germany and get even with Witt and take Paris from him. Although my former ally PP will have learned from our defeat and help Witt hold Paris against me.
Who wants to join the dark side with me?
Elrond chooses next -
-
@colt45554 i choose Russia. Never had them yet
-
They took the 3 Allied countries I wanted so I will run it back with the Turk-commies

Has anyone heard from Dawg? Not a peep regarding our team game. He hasn’t posted any other game turns in 4 days.
If he can’t play, I suggest that we combine Italy/Arabia with USA. USA has limited action to start with and by the time its influence increases, the Arabs will fade. Italy has a narrow playing field.
Someone close to Dawg please contact him.
