Advice to Renegade! What is on your top 10 for adjustments to G40 3rd edition?

The updated OPERATION FELIX-HEINRICH includes the revised SetUp of units in Spain that are described in the G40 Strict Neutral Expansion rulebook.

Seems pretty good. Looks like a lot more money for the Allies. Might be required since the UK is so busted up. Seems like you’d always J1 given that the US is already making 5 bucks off Japan anyways.

Updated. Simplified the rules more.

Issue is that if you’re going for historical set up, you need three access points of Lend Lease for USSR with Far East being the least amount and taking in only non combat equipment which I know is impossible to do for AnA so I say the Lend Lease point has to generate income no larger than 2.

Technically USSR was only moving factories and that was because it was easy to use farming factories to produce tanks, go figure.

How many players do you have? 3,4,5,6?

-Each player chooses a color and takes those units, roundels and tray.

-Everyone then rolls a die to determine order of play with highest going first etc…

-The first player to act will place a roundel on any territory or sea zone knowing that the G40 starting units for that space will belong to his faction.

-A player may choose any territory or sea zone in their turn during this process, and this will continue until all territories and sea zones with a G40 starting unit are claimed.

-Once all are claimed, each player will setup the board according to the G40 starting setup for the territories and sea zones they control.

-During their collect income phase including starting income, players will receive 5 IPCs per territory they control, and 2 IPCs per sea zone in which they have at least 1 sea unit.

-During the place new units phase, every controlled territory will be considered as having 1 minor IC on it.

-Once all players have placed all their units on the board according to the G40 starting setup and the territories and sea zones each player controls, they must place 4 factories each on 4 different territories they control.

-These factories must be spaced 1 per map board, meaning 1 on any territory you control on each of the four boards dividing the map. If you have no territory on the last Pacific board for example, you may place your factory on any territory you control regardless of location.

-These factories act as flags, if you capture 1 flag from each of your opponents… you have won the game.

-All other aspects of A&A G40 combat and turn sequence still apply.

Looking to try something different at the FMGCON this year, any thoughts on this idea?

Thanks for the reply KNP, while I was reading your post I got the idea that the combined 18 IPCs for strict neutrals can be taken for strategic purposes, and for collecting income, however, IPCs from strict neutral territories will not be added to your sides total when calculating for an economic victory. Thanks for the brain food.

Interesting idea YG. Only problem I would see was having to keep track of 2 incomes, one without the strict neutral income and one with.

Here is a saved game “rough draft” edit of the China set up above, for use with TripleA. Right now it uses the standard turn order, but that can altered if desired. All edits to achieve the set up are logged in the game history.

Note how China is no longer a separate nation but instead placed under direct USA control.
Check the stats column for the total Money, Production, and TUV for the United States.

Burma units may be edited into the appropriate territories per the rules above.

There are no co-located units here, all roundel substitutions in play according to the rules above, including for the Commonwealth (represented here in the save edit by ANZAC at 20, Eire south Africa etc.

It is up to the player to enforce the production rules via the edit mode, or to adjust territory possession as necessary (in the case of liberated territories). Example if Japan takes Hunan, and the Americans then liberate it, the game will show Hunan as Chinese, edit possession back to United states. The same thing for the Commonwealth, or if UK pacific territories reappear after conquest/liberation, edit them back to the appropriate power. Otherwise it works as normal, just remember to enforce the factories at 10, 5, 3.

Edit any Soviet Japan Nap conditions you wish.

If no DoW is desired, then you can have all Axis declare in the first round.

VC or Combat bonuses may be edited into the IPC totals at the end of the turn to augment or replace NOs if desired.

Savegame attached below… the next step would be to create an xml gamefile reflecting the new production units, and the Commonwealth faction (while removing UK pacific and China). Eliminate the politics phase, and create a simple NO option on the VCs. Adjust the turn order to the one outlined above.
