    Also the North Africa objective could have been blocked by holding Alexandria. BTW, I did think I could just reclaim Egypt but it didn’t happen that way.

    Not just because of this game but I have reviewed the way I play against a not J1 DOW. If unmolested, Japan will still get India and a lot of income. I didn’t get there quite in time to India this game, but once I started attacking Japan it has paid off I think. Should have suicided a transport to attack Guam last turn but oh well.

    Yeah, a couple of more turns and Japan would have been out. I just posted this after the combat. I can finish out the turn if you prefer, but I don’t see a route for you to get back a vc so I think this is it.

    Thanks for the game. Feel like I lost it more than you won it if you know what I mean. Without Moscow I would doubt the allies could have fought on even without the victory city rule. Would still have taken a lot to regain India and Germany could probably have conquered the Middle East quite easily.


  • @simon33 I do know what you mean. I think you were overly cautious in some places and I think if you had prioritized keeping Egypt more, this game could have gone very differently.

    I don’t think I 've ever done a J4 either. And I began the game thinking I was aiming for a J3. But because I could see you setting up in the Atlantic and committing less US resources to the pacific in the early game, I thought it was worth trying. I don’t think it was the optimal choice but it paid off in terms of getting a Europe side victory.

    But yeah good game! We can have a rematch in the new year.
