Unable to login to desktop version with appleid

While it would be absolutely good to have such a feature, we’re past the stage when the game can get substantial code changes. AAO stayed in Early Access between July 2019 and November 2021, and the also kept getting updates until July 2022. There was always a different feature or issue we worked on.

@djensen I’m only on round 2 so it is hard to say if they are good or not, but so far every play from them seems fine. Yes I am aware that developing an AI capable of playing a complex game like A&A is rather difficult.

I have watched very advanced players on YouTube, so I am aware they can play really fast, especially the first turn. However, this is something else. In a matter of seconds, all purchases, combat moves, combats and non-combat moves are resolved, like max 15 seconds.

If it is not an AI playing, my second guess is that I am not able to watch them play live and what I see is a short playback of everything they made during the turn. I don’t know why that would happen though. I was still connected to the game because the other player was online, so I wanted to play live.

@Glasi You need to create a separate Commander Name on Steam and tell me, so that I could merge manually. Probably better send me a DM with all the info (e.g. emails used for both)

@PGsquig I don’t recall exactly why, but I found a reason to actually do it on purpose. The land wasn’t safe and I needed the air power to project east.

Just based on status, infantry are by far the most broken unit in the game. This has been the case in every version of Axis and Allies but the unit is so common that many people don’t appreciate the brokenness in plain sight.

Don Rae was singing their praises in the 1990s to anyone who would listen: Don’s Axis and Allies Strategic Essays.

While the advice contained within was tailored to the old, Milton Bradley, version of A&A, the Infantry Push and Dead Zone mechanics are still as effective today as they were 25+ years ago.
