Well that makes up for the R6 luck - I won’t feel bad about it any more :+1:
Thanks for doing the ranking very fast.
You feel bad because of the landing in N/B ?
Only at first. But I’m really glad you built nothing on Germany. Just at a glance, I will probably use 2 USA ground units to take S. France for 8 IPC’s, probably take Holland with ANZAC, but before that I will see what the trade will be if I stack Normandy as much as possible. It would be great for me if you send mech from Germany to Normandy.
Yes, at a glance I may be loading everything I have onto Normandy and maybe not even taking S France, just blitzing Holland will give US + 8, but of course I will run the numbers on USA turn.
Thanks for asking, I enjoy answering questions
OK so now I ran the numbers (of course)
I don’t have to put many planes there and you have 0% on Normandy this turn. So no, no regrets for landing and loading ANZ and US transports… :smirk:
And you are so welcome for ranking updates -
I actually enjoy adjusting them for every finished game that gets reported.
I also like trying to decide how accurate I think they are.
I am very pleased that in the playoffs the higher seed almost always wins, so I think the ranking system is quite accurate.
Looks like 1944 for Germany. DDay was successfull, Volgograd is far away, Armygroup Middle is destroyed and Red Army will attack german Mainland. I need Wunderwaffen (Miracle weapons) or help from Japan.

:) I enjoy all comments, and not just when I’m winning.
I’d like to share a tip with you that I almost never share because I think some people would think it’s weird or stupid.
A long time ago I discovered a very good indicator of whether you are winning or not. Every round I play, for several years, I track what the total unit value (in the players tab) is at the end of the UK turn.
No matter what round it is, this measurement seems to be quite accurate. Compare the total unit value (TUV) of the Axis to the Allies at the end of the UK turn. In all my experience, if the Allies are ahead by more than 500, they are winning. If the TUV difference is less than 400, the Axis are probably winning. Between 400 and 500, you have a tight and competitive game. Of course, if one side makes better moves and/or has better dice for a round, it can be turned around. And of course this is not a fail-proof metric, but I’ve rarely seen it fail.
If you take a look at some games, maybe even some of your past games, it would be interesting what you might see.
I continue to wonder if the China garrison rule is too harsh on the Axis.
You’re right, it does look like 1944. Except for that rocking German fleet and pretty big Luftwaffe :hushed:
And in the Pacific theater, it’s closer to mid-December 1941 I think…
You are right. I like statistics too. I did it with football rankings as child, need it for exchange trades and sometimes for work.
I wont look for TUV in my bad games only in the good ones.
And Martin and I are happy to find people like playing A&A.
We thought we are crazy to like this game because nobody knows and plays it in Germany.
In the Pacific you should buy one more ac to have correct number for the battle of Midway. I hope for an unhistorical victory.

Lol great post! Very few in my area in the middle of the USA know about A&A either. I saw it in a specialty board game store about 30+ years ago as a kid with my Dad.
With my Dad’s history he is totally anti-war, and it cost money, so no. Drove about 60 miles one way to get it when I was about 17. The rest is history. Loved it then, will always love it. I mostly had to play against myself, solitaire. I remember some of the excitement - figuring out how the Allies can work together and help Russia defend by sending planes. Figuring out that infantry are the best defense. Trying to take down Japan at the end - pretty tedious unless you get 3-hit heavy bombers. But the bombers cost 15 and a whole country’s economy was about 20-30!
I still like the 50th anniversary edition the best but no-one plays it since G40. I have it out right now, only a few moves in with my 21 year old son. He’s pretty busy with work and studies. I’m not  so I play veterans like you on-line.
I was just thinking, it’s great to move pieces and roll dice right in the presence of your opponent, but the convenience of playing whenever you want with online is fantastic. Plus the calculators. And rankings. And tournaments. Yeah.
Oh, but my Dad was a teenager during WWII, and he actually saved newspaper clippings. I just found out this summer that he actually still has them. He died in 2019, so we are inheriting things.
I got TWO big scrapbooks FULL of newspaper articles throughout WWII in both the Europe and Pacific theaters. I’ve gone through one of them one time, and they are absolutely amazing. Showing maps, fronts, and everything as it happened. He had articles from practically every day.
Doesn’t scan very well - it looks a lot better than this - but check it out
Thank you for the posts.
History is a hobby from me exspecially WWI and WWII.
My father was born 1928 in Poland. His mother was German the father polish. In Nov42 the Nazis makes my family to German because of the german mother. I think they did it to became new soldiers. My father had to fight for Germany first as AAGuner and in the end of 44 he has to fight against red army. Only 1 battle and than POW. After the war he went to Germany because in Poland they would kill him for fighting with the Nazis. This was up to the death of my parents every week something to discuss.
