@sjelso Denmark is something I also wouldn’t take till later, but the Netherlands can be a pain very quickly after Japan attacks. Norway may be risky by sea, but only 2 airborne are needed if given long range air support. If done during lightning war, Norway can be rather easily and quickly conquered.

@generalhandgrenade Thanks! The German player used their whole navy to take out the 2 Norwegian boats thinking the Kriegsmarine was safe and the brits were about to crush it, before we gave him a taksie-backsie.

Sounds good. We just didn’t know if the optional rule about capturing a territory with a capital ship being produced at a shipyard sort of trumped that specific rule. We have been using the rule you posted instead of the optional rule with france. Thanks!

Upon reflection, I think what I was really getting at with the way the beta rules are written is that they never explicitly state that surface warships other than Destroyers cannot attack submarines with the help of an aircraft on MAP. It is only implied that other ships cannot do this.

@Broken-Mortar Hmmm that’s the only reason I could think of. I just checked the V-3 rules and it’s says 2 so it probably was a typo.

I definitely get your point, I think it’s a lot of fun to be able to select what you’d want to buy as the minor power. But I guess I understand from a “simplifying the rules” standpoint to make this happen.

That said, I wonder what’s more helpful to those nations. Take Greece for example. Do they have better odds of building a unit with their 1 IPP a turn (assuming that territory wasn’t captured right away, that is)? Or are they better off rolling a D12 and needing a 1, 2 or 3 (again, depending on what was or wasn’t taken) to get an infantry/2 militia? Greece conceivably has as a 25% chance to get a unit if no territory lost right away. Those are pretty decent odds.
