We played a couple, then moved onto a week-long game of Global. I like “Revised” quite a bit, but my usual opponent is none-too-happy with the ability of transports to shoot back.
; )
The problem is game imbalance makes it tough to find people who will agree to play Allies in online play. A 1 inf bid to Persia or to the Soviets would be nice for balance here.
One infantry bid? Wouldn’t that make this the most closely balanced A&A game ever?
Jet Fighters neutralize the allied annoying tactic of putting AA Guns all over the place because your fighters are immune.
And I meant 10 IPC for Russia. 6 from the rocket attack on Moscow and 4 from the rocket attack on Caucasus. (Remember you can only fire one rocket to each industrial complex per turn.) Add in a bomber to get the two point conversion on Russia for 12 though. WEG
Yea, heavy bombers have been completely castrated. I wouldnt turn them down if they were free, but I wouldnt pay for them either.
One TripleA TSVG comprises all the history so far up to a position. The format is compressed or coded somehow, unparseable as text anyway. One may understand the format from the Open source.
Loading the TSVG into TripleA, it can reconstitute the position at any moment between actions - including at end of R1 of any turn. TripleA also does some good summaries inside, including IPC incomes and total unit values by countries and Axis/Allies.
I pretty much always play “total victory”. That is because I play with competent people who are willing to acknowledge when they have been beaten, and willing to convince me when I have been. There is no shame in surrendering and saving yourself hours of your life. This keeps us from drinking beer until 9 am the next morning. Well, at least from drinking beer and playing axis and allies.
LOL! Fiendish, you are my kind of player… but in a face-to-face mode rather than online (that way we can drink the beer…)
