Axis and Allies each take turns all together [G40]

@franklin_cain Russia probably go hard at it. They kinda do for the spread of commiesm anyway. Not that those TTys provide it, there just in the way.

Don’t see anything wrong with it. Allies probably get it more than Axis. They and Russia are at a disadvantage oob anyway

@midnight_reaper that’s a cool idea and I might have to try it. However I don’t like the idea of getting advancements for free, which is why I like some sort of facility to buy. Since the G40 R&D board seems to have the better advances on one side I’d say you have to roll a 1-4 to get the 1 column, and 5-6 to get the second. Maybe even through in an added cost to get 1-3 & 4-6. But again with that, I think countries should have to build the facilities in their capitol instead of anywhere and starting with them.

@the-captain Offhand it looks fascinating, will be anticipating it- been working on my Own Enhanced Expansion House rules for G40 as well, my group has been playtesting it over the YouTube for close to 8 months! Hopefully will be close to posting the finished product very soon on the House rules Forums before autumn time!!!

Incase anyone is reading this. We are playing we’re on the fourth turn. I’m playing as the axis and have gone with operation Barbarossa as the Germans and a J1 attack with a pivot to Sydney.

One quick thought, in the old games it was usually USA that ended the game round, and the flow throughout the round showed more alternating by side (Allies then Axis, back to Allies and so on.) In G40 the game round concludes with Anzac, or I guess France, but there is this fairly long gap between Japan’s move and the end of the Game round, especially since Italy is such a non-entity in most games, and the American/British piggy back that happens before they even get to move. All that said, I wonder if “at the end of the game round” is even worthwhile anymore. It might be more fun, and more expedient for game resolution to just say if side such and such controls x, y, z “at any point.”

Sounds interesting. How about just using “1 player/ turn” option, where if a player owns both UK and France, but none else, he can move with just those two in an attack? Not as extreme (or interesting), but a little more realistic in some ways.

If you used a “General” piece for each nation, a player could choose one TT to place him in each turn to “take command” of all friendly forces in that TT. Just a thought, I haven’t tried it out yet.
