@SuperbattleshipYamato I’m not surprised. G42 does favor the Allies. But the Axis still have a decent chance at least Japan.

@andrewaagamer I throw in the towel. Well played! I made a mistake in not covering my bases well enough (keeping the pressure on a potential France landing). I very much enjoyed this game. I like that you hit the weak spot right away and took a chance there. Lots of players would have waited for a better opportunity or beat around the bush more.

Thank you for the game!
It has been a couple of years since I played AA50 and I have never played this version with no National Objectives. It was quite different. I was amazed how early on you didn’t need to protect France since it was worth only $6 instead of $16. That allowed a lot more ground troops heading towards Russia!!!
I goofed in Africa and let you smack me good there and you were well ahead so when I saw the chance for France and split Rome/Berlin I had to go for it.
I think overall you outplayed me, you just had that one hiccup with France and I made you pay for it.
Thank yo again, I also enjoyed the game very much!

@andrewaagamer I think the lightning start and especially those retreating units from Egypt gave me a headstart. Also, G1 was incredibly good dice for me. The Egypt units is a map-experience thing. You either keep the fighter with them for 1 more turn, or retreat to TJ to link up with the 2 inf. That one will not happen to you again in the semi-final ;)
Japan is always a huge powerhouse. Those 13 units a turn are too much in the long run when Germany holds up decently. Probably I could have played Germany more conservative, but I also believe you need to at least push the limits to win when ahead. I don’t like games on this map that make it to round 15 haha.
I am quite used to allied players trying to strike back with Russia, build 1 or 2 fighers and exchange territories. Your retreating and building landunits only tactic worked very well. I’ll take that lesson with me for future games for sure.

@andrewaagamer And good luck in the semi-final. I’ll keep following the tournament with great interest.

Yep, already retroactively realized Trans Jordon was the way to go. That way only 2 armor make it south and those the Allies can handle.
