    @elche Thanks. I got off to a good start with the Italians and the Germany Navy and was able to hold on whilst wearing down Russia. I was impressed with how you pulled out of Moscow, wondered why you were buying armour with Germany knocking on the door but you were able to threaten retaking Leningrad, Moscow, and Stalingrad, took some figuring out how I could take Moscow and hold onto the others. I enjoyed seeing that and unpicking how to counter it, it’s an area I need to learn, I can be a bit 2D in my thinking. I managed to hold out better with Japan this time too which helped Germany. I think the game was closer than it looked, the Axis were maybe near there high water mark, pressure was bulding on Western Europe and Egypt, and India was starting to send troops into the Middle East. The Italians grabbing and holding Egypt really helped, and the Germany navy closing off the Med enabled them to pour troops into Egypt to defend it.

    Of course, it would be great to have another game. Be interesting to see how you play the Axis. Shall I set up the game and bid?

  • Thanks. But to hold Moscow I needed 4 AA gun hits at least(was only 1) and Marti on my side. And I need new taktik against Egypt and Russia needs more help. Yes plese start the game with bid 23. 1 inf will not decide the game, I hope.

  • I think I spent too much money with usa against Japan. But I am not really sure about this.

    @elche

    I think you coordinated your bid and strategy. Reinforcing China with Russia and the US going mostly after Japan means that never got the income level needed to keep growing. It’s difficult to know when to switch to the other board as you don’t want Japan finding it’s feet again. I do think the bid showed your intention to reinforce Yunnan and so I tried to bring extra Japanese forces into that area in anticipation.

    It could have worked in this game. The first turn was kind to Germay’s air and navy, and Italy had some luck if I remember correctly. This meant I could control Gibraltar and Suez and focus spending against Russia so there was less opportuntiy to bring help into Europe from the US or the Middle East. With a few different dice rolls maybe the Red Army is able to combine with the UK to hold Stalingrad or the US to hold Leningrad or Moscow never falls, and then it becomes tricky for the European Axis to grab that final VC whilst holding off an invasion. I needed to retake Norway really, but the navy was cut off, the loss of those IPCs would have started to hurt if Moscow hadn’t fallen.
