here is something interesting to look at…

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=306436873830739980&q=clip+a+day

notice the Soldiers holding the flags with the swastika… These I cannot identify as Japanese or Chinese, since it was taken in 1937 and they could be either… I do know of the Red Swastika Society

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Swastika_Society

and I also know that the Tripartite Pact was signed after this…

If the “Red Society” was more docial and “Religious” in nature who are these? Or are they the same? Did the Japanese use this symbol and in what context?

    GG

  • If I had to venture a guess, I would say it’s the Red Swastika Society, not the Japanese.  In part because the video is about a Japanese attack on Shanghai, and the Chinese have historically had stronger connections to the Indian subcontinent, where the swastika originated as a religious symbol.

It is… It is very well buried in Buhddism and Hinduism

  • Also found in Native American art, I believe.  Unless someone has skewed Indian to mean Native American, as can happen (which is why I sometimes say “Indian - Dots, not feathers” when I’m speaking of something relevant).

It is also interesting to note the Swastika isn’t just on the flag, you will notice an armband on  the “First” guard…

  • Had to view it 3X, but yeah that’a a swastika…
    And a damn big one!
