USSR entering China

@insanehoshi as stated the only restriction is July ‘39 for USSR to make a DOW. The thing is that their income does not automatically jump to full income unless they have been declared war against or they have rolled high enough dice in sleeping bear income rolls and/or peacetime income increases. Russia doesn’t want to fight a large war without most of its income available to purchase units!

@insaneHoshi good points all around. I wasn’t think big picture when you said that. Of course others would have to be at war to Lend Lease. So yeah, that makes it a different situation anyways. Still though, just goes to show there are a plethora of possibilities!

I think the “each time” thing threw you off a bit there too. That is more in reference to any attacks on other neutrals besides China (Warlords/KMT/CCP all included in that “China” umbrella), and not to potential other attacks on other Chinese factions.

But as GHG said, once a faction of any kind in China is attacked, the rest automatically align, so there couldn’t possibly be any other Chinese factions that could be considered neutral anymore anyways!

Yeah I can’t wait. I pitched the War of 41! and they changed some things about it but it got in none the less.

@Credulous Nice, I wish I had some of those celery green UK units! Every once in a while I get tempted to buy the stock HBG has. I’d love to create a separate Canadian and South African force sometime, Canada being the blonde, and South Africa the celery. I have the blonde UK infantry from D-Day, and with the celery infantry you can then create small armies for each from the stock HBG has already in each of those colors! Maybe I’ll pull the trigger some time. Those infantry are hard to come by!

Interesting, I suppose that makes sense for buying! I always just assume it was something like Doug thought it wasn’t viable to buy X number of a certain unit in a certain color when only Y amount will realistically be sold. But if a bit easier than that would definitely be nice to see some units/nations/colors fanned out a bit more for some!

A China set would be pretty awesome if they did it! One of those though where it’s how often will China realistically buy anything other than infantry, cavalry, and artillery though? But I agree, it’s a bummer in some ways that you can buy units in certain colors you’ll never have a use for, and others that you could totally use are unavailable!

I’m still going to try it for the memes. I’m fully aware of any strategic concerns. Making China a major power by upgrading the Jehol factory would be hilarious and therefore 100% worth the attempt.

@Wildcat6305 Thank you for confirming! I was 99% sure. This is my brothers first time playing, so he’s had his own opinions on what some of the rules mean, so I’ve had to explain a lot.

Yeah, that’s why I wanted to specify that Yugoslavia and Greece had also been attacked. He starts the game at war with Abyssinia, and Albania isn’t technically an attack, so I knew those didn’t count.

@cdatkins74 I agree with you. In terms of big picture, Japan doesn’t have a ton of need to go past the coastal territories. That’s where the money is, and where they can maneuver a bit better.
