@general-spengler Very interesting. I think having conscripts cost only $1 and be totally unable to attack is both a little sleepy and tends to give too much of an advantage to the defenders.

What about conscripts that cost $2, move 1, defend at 1 each, and attack at 1 as a stack? In other words, no matter how many conscripts you have in an attack, they all collectively only roll one die per round of battle, which only hits if the die is a 1.

This should naturally discourage players from building too many conscripts, since a stack of 5 conscripts is less cost-efficient than a single conscript.

You could also limit production of conscripts to 1 per factory and/or recruiting center per round. So if you have both a factory and a recruiting center in the same territory, you could buy up to 2 conscripts there per turn. If you have only a factory or only a recruitment center, then you could only buy 1 conscript per turn in that territory.

@FMErwinRommel I think that would be a good rule too. It makes more sense if you want to be as accurate as possible.

Add German CA in SZ26
Change RU CA to SS in SZ21.
Change OE CA to TR is SZ20.
Russian cannot attack OE on turn 1, and not subject to mines in SZ20.
Allow TR to absorb a mine hit by loss of a load.
Add German SS to SZ18.
Germany can mobilize infantry in Munich.
Switzerland is IMPASSABLE.

Some good ideas here. A few things I’ve done were to have bmbrs hit at 3 unless paired with a ftr. Makes taking solo blockers out more risky and unless used with carrier aircraft, not as powerful with the big range they have.

Also give tacs +1 when paired with inf the same way artillery does. Makes them a lot more popular in my test games.

None of the Prices change. The ftr still has the big hit on D and can boost the bmbr. Also still the cheapest for fodder. Tac boosting the inf is really nice for small counterattacks and is somewhat realistic as well.

So some minor changes but makes for a more balanced air buy as opposed to just going huge with bmbrs imo.

I would be simpler.
A1 if towed (M2 max), D1 each round against either Tank or Aircraft, not both in same round.

an white truck at the cost of 12 IPC
it funtions as a factory
factory of 2

Deploy
you can deploy the M-F only next to a different Factory
or conferd an minor factory into a Mobile factory for free

Actions
it can either move or deploy and build units
you can only move controlled areas.

you can produce up to 2 units from this factory
or
move your the truck up to 2 spaces trough controlled area

Strategic and tactical bombing raids

boming the M-F can only be done with a Stratic bombing raid
a M-F can get a total of 4 damage
if it gets 5 damage it is destroyed

Not a fighting unit,
it can not partipate in any other way in combat

Transport
the M-F occupy an entire Transport
and cannot build units when its not on main land
and there for cannot build when stationed on a island

Conquering Territory
if a enemy force gain control of the land area a M-F is currently in,That enemy takes control of the M-F.

Multiple Facilitys on the same territory
if a Mayor or Minor factoy is in the same space as the M-F you can use only 1

Well I’ve well expanded out of the A&A universe though it is still a first love. There is a HUGE world of games that we especially as US gamers have overlooked outside of A&A. WWII has a plethora of games out there if you’re willing to explore.

However, in the UK market especially, there are many, many, many games covering even the smallest and largest battles of history varying on complexity.

I would encourage anyone to take a dip in this pool. I actually got my wife to not only play but ask for more of Memoir '44. Sure it’s not A&A but it’s WWII and some day A&A may be “go to” game.

So, while A&A is a favorite, a smaller, weirder, not necessarily A&A game can be the gateway to WWII without “overwhelming” potential a “war game junkie” with the likes of G40 or even AA41.

It seems backwards but more “complicated” games with a smaller scope can really convert people to the thought “well this is really fun, what else have you got?”.
