    @barnee

    Great game report.

What is the IPC level at the ENPC ? Is there an Economic Victory in sight for either side ?

  • 25 24 23 22 21 20 19 18

    @The-Captain

    Hi Captain

Yes the Allies would be threatening Economic Victory soon. The activation of the Neutrals would prove a deciding factor.

As of Early 1946 with the Islands added in it would be

    Axis 113
    Allies 160

    So not quite yet.

USA repairs their Capital Ships and the Spain Fctry. They also move the Fctry underground. A mixed build would follow, with a CV and DD, as well as Infantry and Artillery. 4 Ftrs and 3 LCVs would also be produced but I think the LCVs may change if I remember right, as crockett didn’t realize they could only be produced in one’s Capital.

Combat takes place in Normandy, S FRA and Turkey. Alaska and Carolines Islands also see battle.
3 Bmbrs would team up to kill the Elite in AK but one would be shotdown and JPN would still control the TTy affecting an American Objective.

Turkey would be a success, albeit at the loss of 2 Bmbrs. However, it would prevent a devastating German breakthrough into the Middle East while giving them the same opportunity in the Balkans.
S FRA and Normandy succeed as expected. The main event would take place in Carolines.

    Screenshot from 2025-11-07 23-45-28.png

A minor adjustment would take place https://forums.triplea-game.org/topic/4020/exp-crockett-victory-panzer-beelee/823?page=42 but the result would be an American victory all the same.

The Japanese stronghold in the Central Pacific would now belong to the American Navy. Naval reinforcements would launch off the West Coast.
The Atlantic Fleet remains in 110 and the Spain Fctry continues to produce units for the frontlines. Trprts launch off the E Coast.

Japan had originally planned to destroy the NB in Carolines but the Commander panicked under pressure and forgot :) The AB shoulda been dusted too with all the Bmbrs flying around but the NB cost would be a turn where JPN must defend Tokyo instead of another build.

Well, these things happen in War. The Japanese Commander did the honorable thing and commited Seppuku .

China would continue recruitment to their Army and waste no time in their quest for vengenance against the Japanese. An unsuspecting Infantry would be attacked and killed in Tsinghai, with no Chinese casualties.

The Army doubles in size, with 2 Infantry Regiments recruited in Kansu.

UK builds a Fctry, Ftr and 3 Bmbrs. Crockett sure does like his Bmbrs :) Not sure why edit was on, but it’s easy to confuse things with the amount of edit needed or sometimes one just forgets :).

Anyway, an undefended Greece would be taken. 50/50 Artillery vs Inf battles in Yunnan and Shan St would see them split, with Yunnan remaining in Japanese hands.
The combat in Albania would kill the SS Paratrooper there at no loss.

India would begin to gain strength with a large number of Allied Bmbrs stationed there. A Inf would rail from India to Caucasus to block the Germans in Rostov. It is done with edit, so a bit hard to follow in History.

That is ok though :) Just a heads up for anyone following the game in history :)

    Turkey is reinforced.

ANZAC buys a Ftr and a Bmbr. They would send a Sub to attack the Escort in 35 and both would be sunk.

    End Early 1948

    Late 1948
Germany would go with Total War Panzer and Air Trprt builds as well as 6 Pnzrgrndrs. They continue their 1 Type XXI purchase per turn and add a few Infantry and Artillery.

Combat would take place in both the Eastern and Western Fronts, as well as Albania in the Balkans. They would be able to encircle Moscow by taking an undefended Vologda and Samara with minimal force. The latter being taken by a lone SS Inf from Rostov.

The XXI’s would hit the Allied Fleet in 110 again and 2 other U-boats and a Ftr Ace engage an American DD in 112, which would have prevented the XXI’s from returning to their Pens.

    All attacks succeed.

Belarus and Rostov would both have strong Force Concentrations, with 2nd Panzer and 2nd Waffen in Belarus and 1st Panzer and 1st Waffen in Rostov, after it was heavily reinforced with Panzers from W GER via Air Trprt.

W GER would also continue as the main Force in the West.

The Soviets would add a contingent of Grd Infantry and other Infantry units as well.

They would mop up the minor breakthroughs in Vologda and Samara. Heavier combat would take place in Bryansk, with 2nd Tank engaging the moderate German Force there.

The largest battle would be in Rostov, where 1st Tank and 3rd Corps supported by 3 Tanks, 1 Para and 2 Ftrs, would clash against 1st Pnzr, 1st SS and a large Luftwaffe presence.

    Screenshot from 2025-12-01 15-11-56.png

The Rostov battle would be fought incorrectly as the Tokens were sent into battle instead of the individual units in their Boxes.

I would refight the battle in dicebot which would have a surprisingly similar outcome.

    Dicebot results
    https://www.axisandallies.org/forums/topic/40292/panzerstahl-vs-barnee-exp-game-2/407

Rostov would hold but only with the German Air surviving. This would prove decisive, as America would launch an Amphib attack through the Dardanelles supported by Bmbrs and kill the surviving German Air. The British would then launch their own amphibous attack and liberate it.

Russia is still hard pressed but Moscow is safe and the threat of a German breakthrough from Rostov is removed.

Japan produces a couple small Naval blockers and Infantry with 2 Tanks. PHIs would continue to be fortified.

An LCV Banzai attack would land in Amur and the resurgent Chinese would see battle in Kansu and Tsinghai.
The Aleutians and Iwo would both be taken by DD transported Infantry, while Shan ST would have combat as well.
    All attacks are successful.

Air Trprts reinforce the PHIs. The IJN remains in Home Waters in a defensive posture. In China, remaining Air is concentrated in Kweichow with it’s Fctry builds of 2 Tanks and a Inf.

Yunnan has a moderate Force led by 2 Tanks. Singapore remains adequately defended and the Coastal Fctrys add to their previous Infantry builds.

JPN is threatened from multiple directions, with the Allied Fleet off Carolines, combined with Allied Bmbrs and Subs throughout the Theatre, causing the most concern.

USA repairs their Capital Ships and buy Total War Inf. They also add to their Air Forces and Navy, including a CA.

They would be involved in a large amount of combat with over a dozen battles taking place. Most would have small numbers of units or undefended involved.
The aforementioned Rostov battle would be the biggest.

Air attacks against Finland, S FRA and N Italy would destroy all German Forces with the loss of 2 Ftrs in S FRA.
S Italy, Normandy and Norway would all be taken.

In the Pacific, the Aleutians are liberated, blockers are sunk in 35, 17 and 18. Kiangsi and Kwangtung see them victorious as well.

The Fleet moves to 20 SZ and JPN is ringed by DDs.

    Screenshot from 2025-12-01 18-22-49.png

The Naval units deploy off the West Coast and the Infantry prepare for sea transport to Europe.

UK goes with a heavy land build hilighted by 2 Tanks along with 2 Ftrs.

Combat takes place in Caucasus, N Italy and Burma. All battles are won and a now undefended Rostov is liberated.

Air units reinforce Moscow, primarily Bmbrs. Their Forces remain highly dispersed but their network of Global Fctrys and a nice 67 PU payday allow them to continue to effectively influence the War.

    Continued on 12-5-25

ANZAC goes with a all naval build. An undefended Siam is conquered by a Inf that was on a US Trprt. The Carriers from Carolines join the American Fleet in 20 SZ.

A French Infantry in Spain takes a undefended S FRA.

    Vive la France !

Some adjustments were made in Edit. Looks as if it was for the Rostov battle according to the Comment Log:

    To be answered soon.

    12-6-25

    Early 1949

The Reich goes with total War buys of Mechs, Panzers and Air Trprts. Some Infantry mixed in along with some Paras.
The Ruhr Fctry is moved underground.

Combat takes place throughout W EUR and S EUR. E Front sees the Wehrmacht move into Bryansk in Force. Their V-2s would miss their mark in S Italia.

All other attacks would succeed. The XXIs continue to attrit the Allied Fleet in 110.

1st Waffen and 1st Pnzr lead the way in Bryansk.

    Screenshot from 2025-12-06 21-42-51.png

Soviets replace some Guard Infantry that were lost as well as some Paratroopers.
A minor combat in Rostov would be successful.

The Red Army has finally been forced to turtle in Moscow, although their Paratroopers are able to threaten offensive action.

Nippon is hard pressed by the Allies. They buy some naval blockers a couple Naval Ftrs and Inf.

They would break into undefended Central Asia TTys but not in Force.
American DDs would be heavily targeted.
The Army would gather what they could to move into Burma.

    Screenshot from 2025-12-06 22-07-16.png

Their China Air Force remains in Kweichow and the Fctry there would produce 3 Infantry. The enormous Allied Fleet off Hong Kong remains it’s biggest threat but is temporarily blocked.

    Continued on 12-20-25

The Americans go with a heavy Naval Trprt buy, along with Air and Armored Inf.

Signifigant combat would take place in N Italy and UKR with 11 Bmbrs deploying there. Singapore would be liberated in Force. The small Landing in SFE would be defeated.

UKR would see the destruction of the German Force but with heavy losses including 4 Bmbrs. No land troops would survive to take control.

N Italy would be a close battle but superior American Air Power would defeat the German Panzers.

Britain would go with land units and Ftrs.

A moderate sized but important battle would take place in Burma. The British Indian Army would prevail in a close fight thanks to their Air Power.

A Lancaster and Spitfire would attack a sole Tank in Samara and all units would perish.
German Fallschirmjäger, including a SS Battalion, would be defeated in Caucasus but with heavy casualties to the British.

ANZAC would go with a all Trprt purchase. A JPN Tank in Siam would be destroyed by Air units. The combined Allied Fleet is now concentrated in 37 off Singapore with numerous single Ships spread throughout the Pacific.

The Allies continue to threaten Economic Victory.

    Late 1949

Germany builds Total War Mechs and Tanks. They also repair 2 damaged Panzers and add a large number of Infantry.

Type XXI U-boats would continue their relentless assault on the Allied Fleet in 110 SZ getting 4 hits. The back and forth would continue in N Italy with Germany winning a close fight.

The Wehrmacht, with support from the Luftwaffe, would regain control of Normandy. Rostov would change hands to German control once again in a battle of small Forces.

Some minor corrections to the Allies would take place at end turn in edit. I don’t remember exactly what for. Should be in the Game thread.

    USSR
The Soviets go with a Total War Artillery build.
Small Combats would take place all along their Western and Eastern Fronts.

    Screenshot from 2025-12-20 06-48-39.png

The Smolensk and Vologda attacks would both fail. The lack of soviet Air Power is hurting their ability to successfully counterattack.

The Wehrmacht is hard against Moscow. The heavy losses of the Luftwaffe are proving key to Soviet survival.

Japan would place demolition charges at the Harbor in Kwangsi and go with heavy Infantry builds along with a couple Naval Ftrs and a DD doing everything they can to keep the Allies at bay until the Reich can mount it’s attack against Moscow.

Small desperate combats would take place in Burma, Shan St and Kwangtung, where the odds were very much up in the air.

Massive Air from JPN and their CVs in 6 SZ would hammer the American picket line of Ships in the North Pacific.
An Undefended Midway and Wake would be taken by Destroyer transported Infantry.

The Shan ST and Burma battles would see mutual destruction of the ground forces involved. A Naval Ftr would be lost in the N Pacific sinking a CV.

The IJN remains in 6 SZ and the IJA retains control of China.

    Screenshot from 2025-12-20 07-12-24.png

America repairs their damaged Capital Ships and begin construction of Minor Fctrys in Alaska and Turkey. Naval, Air and Infantry builds round out their purchase.

The US would send an “All Out Attack” order to all units in the field capable of striking Axis units. They would be highly successful.

Over 19 Combats would take place.

Kwangsi would be liberated getting China back in the fight.

UK would go with Tanks, Mechs and Air for it’s build. A half dozen key battles would take place with Northern China and the Balkans being the most important. They would take control of an undefended Norway with Tanks landing from American Trprts.

    Screenshot from 2025-12-20 07-50-07.png

ANZAC would continue to build it’s Navy but would be unable to engage any Japanese forces.

Conclusion and Final thoughts to follow.

    Congratulations @crockett36

    Conclusion

A tough first game for crockett but he persevered through adversity and got the win. Unfortunately Victory had to withdraw for reasons unknown around 1943 or 4.

I expected him back and by the time crockett asked for one of us to switch sides to help him, we were too close to the endgame.

I did try and help him as much as I could with suggestions and explanations of what to look for from special units he wasn’t familiar with etc …

Regardless, it was still a very enjoyable game and Panzer and I were impressed with crockett’s, to us, somewhat unorthodox playstyle.

He definitely wasn’t risk adverse :)

    A few key points.

The “Karelian Knot” proved harder to untie than Panzer and I originally thought. This tied up a lot of German resources and provided SSR with additional income for half the game.

The early Naval loss or more correctly “Pyrrhic” victory for Japan off Singapore, really slowed down Japanese expansion in the Pacific. The loss of 2 CVs was signifigant.

The Soviet Bombers would have several key wins but the most impactful was sinking the Axis Naval blocker in the Med, which would lead to the destruction of the Large Axis Fleet staioned in 97.

The Allied attack on the True Neutrals was unexpected. I originally thought it a mistake but it would open Spain as a major base of operations as well as provide access to easy Neutral IPC points for the Allies, primarily in S America and the Middle East, which helped push the Allies to the Economic Total needed for Victory.

There were several major battles that some went the Axis way and others the Allies which is to be expected.

Crockett also made great use of Air Power, especially Bombers. I kept wondering where they all were coming from :)

At any rate, Congratulations to crockett once again on the victory.

@barnee said in Global 1940 & 1943 Expansions Game Reports:

I’m not sure why he did. I didn’t catch it at the time. Do you remember why those were removed @VictoryFirst ? Long time ago I know :)
Well, it wouldn’t have affected the outcome. Maybe another hit or two for Spain is all.

LOL that was because I thought the set up was just for the looks, but was incorrect gameplay-wise. If you happened to invade Spain you had to change it to setup of only infantry

    @VictoryFirst

heh heh it didn’t matter anyways :) Activating the Neutrals paid off. If the Allies can withstand the Axis unit boost they can gobble up some easy economic points for the win.

Something to keep in mind :)

Global 1940, No. 19 Game Report:

This is the only post in the No. 19 Game Report.

    Players:
    Axis: Mads G.
    Allies: The Captain

    Germany:
In Early 1940 (round 1), Germany launched a Fullscale Attack on the Soviet Union.
Infantry, Panzer and Waffen-SS units attacked on the entire Eastern Front.

France was captured by the Germans in Early 1940 - and the UK Navy in the Atlantic was eliminated.

    Soviet Union:
As the Germans launched a Massive Assault on the Soviet Union in Early 1940, the Soviets immediately received 10 IPC - and 1 free Tank unit (Urals). No counterattacks were launched against the invading Germans.

Novgorod was evacuated - and all units were moved to Belarus in order to block the way to Moscow.

The Soviets hastily planned for a Defense in Depth in order to make each captured territory as costly as possible to the Germans.

    Japan:
In Early 1941 Japan launched a large scale invasion of several islands in the Pacific.
Fighting was still ongoing in China with heavy casualties on both sides.

    United States:
In Early 1941 the United States activated the US National Guard due to a Japanese attack on the Philippines.
US Naval units & troops moved to French controlled Morroco and prepared for landings in Western Europe - to take of the pressure on the Eastern Front.

    United Kingdom:
As Germany attacked the Soviet Union in Early 1940, UK air units were hastily sent to Russia as part of Lend-Lease.
In Late 1940 three UK Lend-Lease Tank units were also sent to Russia.

A massive build-up in London of Paratroopers, Landing Crafts etc. took place in Early 1940 and Late 1940.

    Italy:
Italian Naval & Air units managed to clear the Med from Allied surface Warships.
North Africa saw some heavy fighting between Italian & British troops.

    Early 1942:
German & Italian troops on the Eastern Front failed to capture Moscow - which clearly was the major object in the German Strategic Plan.
By the time the Germans reached Smolensk in Early 1941, there were simply not enough German & Italian manpower to attack Moscow.

The Germans instead attacked south towards Rostov & Caucasus.

Soviet troops re-captured Smolensk, Belarus, Bryansk and Tambov - and secured the Capital long enough for the Red Army Conscription Infantry to be activated.

Japanese troops captured all of China - and all supply lines were heavily protected against enemy attacks.

United States launched attacks in Normandy & Holland - and prepared for an invasion of Western Germany.

United Kingdom launched attacks against Norway, Southern France and Denmark.

Italian forces in Europe were scarce since most units were shipped to the Middle East and the Eastern Front.

    The End:
By Early 1944 Germany was surrounded on all sides - the remaining German & Italian troops on the Eastern Front were eliminated by a superior number of Soviet and British units.

Japan was still fighting with strong forces against the US, UK and ANZAC - but Japan lacked the manpower to attack the Soviet Union.

By Early 1945 the Germans were holding on to France, Germany, Denmark and Greater Southern Germany.

With strong Soviet forces in Poland - and US & UK forces in Western Germany, the War ended with an Axis surrender in Early 1945.

Pictures for this Game Report will be posted later.

Global 1940, No. 20 Game Report:

This is the only post in the No. 20 Game Report.

    Players:
    Axis: The Captain
    Allies: Keld R.

    Germany:
From Early 1940 to Early 1941, Germany captured Western Europe and prepared for an attack on the Soviets in Late 1941.

A German defense of Western Europe mostly included Mines & Infantry.

    Soviet Union:
The Soviets prepared for an agressive defense with a combination of Fighter units, Tank Armies, Army Corps and Soviet Guards.

When Germany in Late 1941 launched the attack against Russia, the Soviets agressively counter attacked the Germans with heavy casualties on both sides.

The Soviet Strategic Plan was skillfully coordinated with both United States and United Kingdom.

    Japan:
The Japanese Strategic Plan was to capture most islands in the South Pacific while the Chinese Front was secondary.
From Late 1940 UK units from India supported the Chinese defense - and by Early 1943 China was still defending against the Japanese invaders.

    United States:
The US Navies in the Atlantic and the Pacific were gradually reinforced massively.
The US Strategic Plan in the Pacific was to support Russia - with US troops landing in Soviet Far East - and moving towards Japanese occupied China.

    United Kingdom:
UK Lend-Lease Air & Tank units were shipped to Russia from Late 1941.
UK units were contiuously attacking Western Europe with Paratrooper units and Naval Assaults.
UK declared War on Japan in Early 1940 and units from India immediately supported the Chinese defenders.

As the War went on, Axis forces were gradually eliminated by agressive Allied counter attacks on land, sea and air.

By Late 1942, the combined US and UK Naval forces in the Atlantic - and the US Navy in the Pacific - were superior to the Axis Naval forces.

    The End:
In Late 1942 the UK Navy in the Atlantic moved from sz 91 to sz 92 - and thereby leaving the US Navy vulnerable to attack from the German Kriegsmarine.

The German Kriegsmarine launched an attack on the US Navy - and eliminated an enormous US Invasion Fleet.
This left the US troops stranded in Gibraltar and Morocco.

German casualties were heavy - and the Kriegsmarine was facing elimination from a UK Naval Counter attack.

In Early 1943 after the catasrophic US Naval losses in the Atlantic, the US launched a massive Naval and Amphibious Assault against sz 6 and Tokyo.

    to be continued soon…

Update on G40 No. 20 Game Report; 7th December 2025:

The US Navy attacked the Imperial Japanese Navy in sz 6.
All Japanese Warships, Air units and Transports were eliminated.

US Troops supported by the US Army Airforce landed on the beaches of Homeland Japan.
Japan activated the Home Defense - and received 2 Infantry units. These were the only Infantry units in Japan, since all other land units were Artillery and Mechanized Infantry units.

Japanese AAA failed to destroy any US Air units…

The US Army swiftly eliminated 75 % of all defending Japanese units.

But the costs were extreme for the US Troops & Air units…

After 6 rounds of Combat, the last attacking US units were eliminated by a few surviving Japanese Mechanized Infantry units.

A few Japanese troops barely survived the massive US attack on the Homeland of Japan.

Since the US Navy in sz 6 was now facing a counter attack from a superior Japanese Airforce and Japanese Naval units - the US Navy would certainly be eliminated.

This scenario left the USA with no Warships anywhere on the game board - and so the initiative was lost for the US player.

The overall situation in Early 1943:

    • The German Army managed to halt the Soviet offensive on the Eastern Front
    • Western Europe was heavily defended by German & Italian forces, including numerous Mines
    • Italian troops were firmly holding on to Egypt - even though almost all of North Africa was under Allied control.
    • The threat from any US Amphibious Assault in Western Europe was eliminated.
    • US Troops in Soviet Far East were cut off from any reinforcements
    • The Japanese Navy was the only Navy in the entire Pacific Ocean - with no Allied Naval units to stop the Japanese expansion
    • Western USA was captured by Japanese Infantry units…

The Allies surrendered in Early 1943 after the failed amphibious attack on Japan.

To support this tremendous undertaking, they would construct a Major Fctry in Korea.

The British Royal Navy would sink the Italians in 97 with help from the RAF but the attack off Malta would go poorly and see the loss of a Ftr and CA as well as the Italian Trprt surviving.
The Battle of the Atlantic would commence, with the 109 DD and London Bmbr sinking the U-boat off Canada.

Italia would mop up the French Forces in S FRA from the failed German attack but their efforts to sink the Royal Navy in 97 would fail spectacularly with Heavy losses.
Things would go better in N Africa as they would take Tunisia and the Ethiopian Army Kenya in force.

In Late 1940 the Air Blitz against London would begin. The RAF, with most of their Aircrews elsewhere, would decline battle and the Fctry would be heavily damaged.

An undefended Gibralter would fall and a Trprt sunk off Guiana by a U-boat. The Luftwaffe would finish off the Royal Navy in 97 and the Wehrmacht would take control of Greece.

6 LCVs would be built in Berlin along with 10 LMs.

The Soviets would withdraw to Yakut and send a Commisar with Armor support to take command of the theatre.

Nippon would move on a broad front against Soviet Asia with Skirmishers, who would take casualties. The Army adavances in Central China supported by the Air Force.
