Haven’t looked, but what I understand Italy would sacrifice its navy in order for Germany to mop up the left-overs. It should be risky.
If the italian attack fails, it’s expended without gain. Don’t think the situation is that desperate yet.
On the other hand it’s nice to be able to do something with the navy before it’s eventually destroyed. On the other other hand, it’s important to try and defend the convoy area for as long as possible.

I also think G had too little air to be able to follow through. Only 3 fig, 2 tac, 2 sb (@3). If UK just keeps enough fleet it’s a suicide mission.

DOING TO KILL PART OF YOUR FLEET BEFORE JOINING THE CANADIAN ONE, BEFORE IT’S TOO LATEOn the other hand it’s nice to be able to do something with the navy before it’s eventually destroyed. On the other other hand, it’s important to try and defend the convoy area for as long as possible.
